Because the game's performance requirements are reduced to fit the console.(otherwise it couldn't run Mass Effect)

It is because of console players crouch, storm & cover, revive etc are all centered around the Space button.

aka, without console players, the game controls could've been a lot better, graphics could've been a lot better etc.

We could even have like 12-15 enemies in a single match etc, perhaps even play in teams of 6, have bigger maps, fancier modes and so on...


Oh, and we'd also have Text Chat!

All this "My choice of platform is better then yours", non sense is really getting old.

I have a "Gaming PC" that is 5years old and I can still play any game I want. The only parts I have upgraded since I got it are the HDDs and the video card.
I also have a XBOX 360 & PS2 for the console games I want to play.

I think it's mostly people that only have one platform for gaming that start all the poo flinging matches on the forums. (Fanboys)

Annoying kids on xbl is very true, but you trade that for annnoying 30 year olds on pc. swings and roundabouts.

Sadly, consoles are a necessary evil. As many others have pointed out, the gaming market would be no wear near what it is right now without consoles. Hell, even if gaming was PC-only, low spec gaming rigs ($300-$400 systems) would still be a crutch in order to make gaming available to a wider market with at least 5+ year support (so the minimal would still be where the consoles are today, hell, even less).

Personally, I rather have a separate team working on the PC port and supporting it after release. At the very least, it could improve AI, number of enemies, controls, UI, etc., though not to the degree a dedicated PC game would. This would also allow us to get patches and fixes A LOT faster than what we are getting now. Ideally, I would want all games developed on PC first then ported to consoles.

I'm a multiplatform gamer, I have a Gaming PC, Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, Nintendo DS, Gamecube, SNES, Dreamcast, N64, etc. I play games on all my consoles(I have a lot more then listed) and I take turns with them all. I prefer my Xbox and PC Overall but I still play them all. I don't see why we need hate for each other. We're all gamers

Disclaimer: Haven't read all replies to this topic, but I am responding to those who suggest the PC communiy is better/nicer than the 'console' community.
Disclaimer: I have access to  PC and xbox tho not PS3 and don't consider myself prejudiced to or against any platform.

When TC was nerfed, seemingly infinite threads popped up about it in which there were an awful lot of posts made by infiltrator players saying "From now on, I refuse to revive teammates", which I found a disgusting attitude.

So, during a very boring 2 hour car journey traffic jam, I went through 3 of these threads. I checked the manifest of everyone I saw who posted this response to find out if they were on my platform and avoid them. The results were surprising to me. I stopped looking after that as it was clearly a waste of my time as I play this game on PC.

XBOX : PS3 ratio is 7.4 : 1,     XBOX : PC ratio is 12.3  : 1 ,   PS3 : PC ratio is 1.6 : 1

I have no idea how many people on this forum who post play XBOX, PC or PS3.... but I would be surprised if those are the actual ratios of players who post, but maybe they are? But also, maybe there's another way to compare data without knowing the numbers on platform communities? 

As a comparison, going through the Operation Thread: Earth Squadmates Roll Call where players post their GT/IDs so they can help other players we get...

PC:       35
PS3:    21
XBOX:   46

that's a XBOX : PS3  ratio of   2.2 : 1   and XBOX : PC ration of  1.3 : 1  and PS3 : PC ratio of  0.6 : 1

Vastly different results.

These observations do not support the hypothesis that it is PC vs console as far as the quality of the various communities on this forum are concerned because PS3 and XBOX results are quite different.

If you want to use these observations to suggest anything else. You are on your own

People tend to forget that Mass Effect was originally a Xbox360 exclusive. Of course Bioware should focus on the Xbox360 version foremost...I get annoyed when a formerly PC game seems to get shortchanged when moved to consoles and thus it would be hypocritical of me to complain about the reverse...
