I like Skyrim by the way, but I didn't love it more than breathing or anything like some people.

YAWN. Skyrim is a shallow sandpit.
"OMFG look at all this sand! Let's see how dee- *clunk*....
oh.."
Well, it has a storyline for one. That adds like 100 depth points. It has actual character interaction +100 depth points. Gameplay that isn't woeful +50 depth points. Auto-dialogue -50 depth points.
Just as a game, Skyrim has width, but since there is no motivation to keep playing other than using your imagination to create sotrylines, it's boring as balls.
New Vegas on the other hand.... Obsidian should take Bethesda's job.

It's a shame they didn't do it for ME3.

I don't give a crap about anything in Skyrim or anyone the entire time I play it. ME3 has me emotionally invested from the second the game starts If all games were like Skyrim I would not play games because they would be boring.
ME3 with all its flaws is still a more emotionally engaging and satisfying experience and thats because of the characters you grow to love and the story that begins to matter to you.

Skyrim offers 0 emotional connection to a sterle beautiful world. It has epic speeches that if delivered as citscenes would have significantly added to the emotional experience. That game as beautiful as it is is boring as hell. Even ME3 with all its flaws is a better game than Skyrim.

With all due respect, I don't think people play Skyrim for an emotional and cinematic pay off. It is a very different game with its own strengths. This is the equivalent of an FPS fan saying they don't like Skyrim because it doesn't offer the same experience as an FPS.

Well, that dragon coming out of nowhere to rescue the dragonborn at the first five minutes of the game is kind of a Deus Ex Machina. At least I think it is. Don't know about the dragonborn him/herself though...

Width but not depth, I like that. I've been trying to find an explanation for why I don't like Skyrim as much as a lot of people and that may be it.Gibb_Shepard wrote...

ME3 had its own problems of course, I wouldn't say it was better than Skyrim. [Especially considering their take is quite different.] But I'd take bioware's **** ending than an entire game that I just feel nothing for.

ME3, to me, has more story and character development, (as with ME1 and 2).
skyrim has more exploration.
I would prefer a hybrid of the two games. exploration and interaction as in skyrim( ie making potions and smithing etc) with the full on character interaction and storytelling of the ME and DA style.
I think I may just start my own game company!

I don't like Skyrim. The combat is dull, the dungeons are mostly repetitive, with the voice acting and NPC AI is a bag of bricks, and there's no moral choice system, like there is in most RPG's.

seriously...you are joking......
Me3 aint an RPG at all. It's a shooter. Choices are linear. Exploration is Linear. Yeah the universe itself might look pretty but exploration...... is non existant.
