It's kinda hard to compare the games because they are from different styles of rpg.  ME originated as very story focused and character driven while Skyrim and the rest of the ES was an open world game.  The two styles focus on different aspects of the rpg and the result is two very different games.  It does not make one style better than the other, just different.

As it has been said here, it all comes down to personal preference.  I personally like story and character driven games more than open world, but I have enjoyed both types of games.  Skyrim does some things better than ME and ME does other things better.  Both are still good games.

NONSENSE...

RPG is RPG. And ME3 is as much a RPG as Call of Duty is one.

How could Bioware look at an amazing RPG experience like Skyrim, which was released November 2011, look at ME3 while it was finished with it's lazily thrown together story, and think "This'll do!"? And then release it in March 2012.

One would think that Skyrim would show Bioware that an amazing single player is what people want, not a hastily thrown together mess. The only reason for playing it more than once is the Multiplayer, a standard survival challenge mode. If I wanted to play that, I would play GOW3.

Skyrim > ME3 in EVERY way.

Oh, and when people were complaining that Fallout 3 had a crappy ending, Bethesda said "Ok, we'll change it so your character lives, no problem." Why is that so difficult for you, Bioware?

Actually, didn't Bioware even mention in some article that Skyrim was an amazing game and inspired them to take new directions with Dragon Age 3?

Like forging our own weapons? then hell yes!! I always wanted to do that since DA:O!

A childish response. Saying an RPG is an RPG is saying that Skyrim is the exact same kind of game that Pokemon is. They are both technically RPG's.

Skyrim is still a better game than ME3. No matter which way you compare it.

Skyrim's story is average at best, the appeal of Skyrim is the large freeroaming world and many side missions.

Just goes to show that you have NO idea what so ever of what a RPG is.

Is ME3 a RPG? WHY IS THAT EXACTLY? Because it has some lines of dialogue? Because "because"?

Puff... go play some multiplayer.

Wolves are very rare to fight outside cities after like level 15, they like woods, suprisingly.

Riding a horse city to city attracts constant wolves and the occational sabre cat if you go through the mountains.

Comparing Skyrim with ME3 makes Sovereign a dull boy.

I'm not at all, i've only played Skyrim, Fallout 3 and New Vegas. ME3 pissed me off because I loved the series so much and Bioware did a half-assed job. At least Bethesda wait until a game is ready before they release it.

If I remember correctly there were some game breaking glitches when it was released.

Well, as a long time Elder Scrolls fan, even Skyrim falls short in certain aspects. It's not even in the same league of disappointment as Mass Effect 3. Sorry I called you a fanboy, there just seems to be a lot of arguing in this topic.

I'm indifferent to Skyrim personally, its very good but its not my taste of game. ME2 remains my personal favourite game whereas ME3 is much lower on my list.

Maybe for some people. I for one was blessed with a Daedric copy of the game. The only glitches I have ever run into in my +350 hours were freezing loading screens on characters with +50 hours on them.

Skyrim is a terrible RPG.
The poor story, characters and dialogue and its horrible combat makes it nothing more than a stain on TES series. So much content had been removed and the game was simplified far too much from previous Elder scrolls. Beth needs to learn from Morrowind and Fallout NV.
I dread to think what fallout 4 will be like.

As someone who has played both games for more time then I'd care to admit, you can't really compare them. Its two completely different experiences. Apples and oranges.

Excuse me? I wasn't even talking about ME3. I was talking about your flawed logic in RPG's just being one exact unchangeable genre.

It's cool, I know compared to other Bethesda games Skyrim was dumbed down, but it's the same kind of simplifying that made ME2 better than ME1. At least IMO.

I agree. Skyrim is essentially Oblivion 2.0, which isn't a bad thing. I really like the game. Although it would be nice if we could see some of the RPG aspects from Morrowind return.
