I WILL say though that Mass Effect 3 needed at least another year in development. It was gonna originally be released in 2011 for goodness sake. A year and a half for a triple A game on ME2's scale is NOT enough time, and only EA can be blamed for that. Crysis 3 is now seeing the same problem.

Skyrim has been in development since before FO3 if I remember correctly. That would be almost 5 years.

ME2 had a ton more content that ME3. Fetch quests are NOT fun. Why no Loyalty missions? Why rehashed MP maps?

It's not a bad game, but 'what could have been' will be stapled to it forever.

Shame Bioware is owned by EA now. Gonna have to pump out the shorter, lack-of-depth titles for eternity now, else I'd say they should walk away and publish their own games: they have the size and capability to do so.

Skyrim is still inheritently flawed though. Sometimes when I was playing it I was like "What's the point? I'm the head of every guild, the Dragonborn, the hero of the Imperial Army, the chief household guard of every single Hold, and no one seems to give a damn? Whats the point?"

If Skyrim had gotten that right, I'd have agreed with you OP.

Skyrim is a terrible RPG.
The poor story, characters and dialogue and its horrible combat makes it nothing more than a stain on TES series. So much content had been removed and the game was simplified far too much from previous Elder scrolls. Beth needs to learn from Morrowind and Fallout NV.
I dread to think what fallout 4 will be like.

I'm very interested to see what Bethesda will do with Fallout 4 which I believe is going to release sometime next year. I am both excited and scared.

At least you can be content with the fact it will probably be better than Dragon Age 3.

I thought being weak in all those areas was a defining characteristic of the TES games.

Wow I am Sovereign, you really opened a can of worms here.

I just was playing Skyrim and thought, "How could Bioware be satisfied with what they released after Bethesda showed them how it's done?"
Then I wanted to see if anyone felt the same. Hence the thread.

TW2>Skyrim.

Comparing Skyrim to ME3, or well Bethesda games to Bioware games is like comparing apples to oranges.

Yeah, Skyrim is many things.

Boring is not one. And if it is to you, you're doing it wrong.

How could Bioware look at an amazing RPG experience like Skyrim, which was released November 2011, look at ME3 while it was finished with it's lazily thrown together story, and think "This'll do!"? And then release it in March 2012.

One would think that Skyrim would show Bioware that an amazing single player is what people want, not a hastily thrown together mess. The only reason for playing it more than once is the Multiplayer, a standard survival challenge mode. If I wanted to play that, I would play GOW3.

Skyrim > ME3 in EVERY way.

Oh, and when people were complaining that Fallout 3 had a crappy ending, Bethesda said "Ok, we'll change it so your character lives, no problem." Why is that so difficult for you, Bioware?

Only thing Skyrim / Fallout lacks are decent characters and Romance. Apart from that, they are superior to ME3 in every way.

/agree

Yeah, characters/romance are lacking in skyrim. Otherwise it's a great game.

One thing I will say is, Skyrim and ME3 were both ridiculously buggy games.

Yip, I feel that TW2 > Skyrim too.

Skyrim is great no doubt but it is a very different RPG from ME3. Tis a sandbox RPG, with a rather weak story.

Mass Effect 3= Depth.
Skyrim= world.

Depth+world= perfect game.

Conclusion- Bethesda and BioWare should get together sometime.

YAWN. Skyrim is a shallow sandpit.

"OMFG look at all this sand! Let's see how dee- *clunk*....

oh.."

Yep, tell me all about how ME3 is a deep RPG experience...

Well, it has a storyline for one. That adds like 100 depth points. It has actual character interaction +100 depth points. Gameplay that isn't woeful +50 depth points. Auto-dialogue -50 depth points.

Just as a game, Skyrim has width, but since there is no motivation to keep playing other than using your imagination to create sotrylines, it's boring as balls.

New Vegas on the other hand.... Obsidian should take Bethesda's job.

^This

But TBF Skytim has better RPG mechanics, has more polish, and It also dosn't try to be too many things at once. However  rhe narritive for Skyrim is lack-luster at best, and it's characterization is almost non-existant.

More polish? Have you ever played a Bethesda game? It's glitch-mania.

All TES games have been buggy, but at least Bethesda does patches and gives fans a toolset to fix bugs.

Is having virtual sex suppose to be a postive point when comparing games?

After seeing Fallout 3 I have my doubts.
