On pc most of the people witha microphone either don't speak english or they use it to curse whenever things go bad..
I usually do not deem my usage of the microphone necessary..

I never claimed he said mics are needed to win games.

Then why say it if no one raised the point that having mics makes or breaks gold games?  You did it to unfairly discredit his position by insinuating that his belief is that mics make or break gold games.  If you didn't do it for that reason what other reason did you have?

Sorry, but I don't make every post about Babbylonian. You'll have to deal with that.

No. A mic making or breaking a game means that your situational awareness is low. As I stated a few times before.

 My rule is:

Bronze: Don't bother with a mic.
Silver: Consider a mic.
Gold: Use a mic.
Platinum: Kicked if you don't use a mic.

Though it's been misspelled a few times I'm just super excited that my name keeps being used...even in a conversation whose pedantry already caused me to leave it.

Cuz you won't/can't tell me when a hunter/phantom is sneaking up on me or if I'm about to get sandwiched between two banshees. I also can't bit** about magna-grabs with you.

Plus I like to play with people who I can laugh with and tell jokes back and forth with. Silent teammates are for pubs and I don't play pubs.

I have my PS3 hooked up to a 5.1ch Dolby Digital surround sound system. I can hear Phantoms and Banshees sneaking up on me from miles away. I can clearly hear where the enemies are coming from even before they show their ugly mugs. Many times after a match people will send me messages asking me how I know exactly where the enemy is coming from at all times. Some people have even asked me if I'm cheating somehow. I am not cheating. I'm simply using a kickass sound system. I can hear the enemies movements long before anyone on the squad can see the enemy. I don't need people to tell me when there is something behind me.

I don't think we really have a whole lot to disagree about. Nothing to be upset about, any ways.

You made that statement in a direct response to Babbylonian!  No one advanced the position that having a mic would make or break the game; its completely irrelevant to your earlier post which basically states that if you have to use mics you have low situational awareness.  In no way does the statement "mics don't make or break games" support your earlier argument of having to use mics means that you have low situational awareness.  You did it to deliberately and unfairly discredit him.

Not a lot, no.  It's a difference in goals.  Mine include a bit more than finishing the match.  If someone needs help to do better I'd rather try to give it to them than carry them; the latter requires no communication, the former demands it.

Hardly anyone on PC ever uses their mic, and I've never gotten any guff for it. And yes, I clear u/u/g regularly (not platinum, because I don't enjoy it.)

I have 3 mic's. The only time I use one is to talk to my friends, otherwise I don't bother and its worked out pretty well.

I have a mic, but I use it in the lobby more than during the game. It's really not necessary very often unless the team isn't good at keeping awareness of it's surroundings.

When I have a friend on we boot anyone without a mic if we're playing on platinum for a couple of reasons. The main reason is calling out enemies I do like to know that a prime is about to have his way with my back side. Objectives also go a lot smoother with communication we tend to have one team deal with the objective while another distracts the bulk of the enemies. Also how am I supposed to know your loadout? Is your justicar bubble speced for damage or protection? How is your sentinal speced?
There for no mic=boot. You can get one for 10-15 dollars at GameStop (for Xbox last I checked) it's not a big deal to buy at all.

If you are smart, can use audio cues, and keep an eye on your team mates, you do NOT need a mic to play this game effectively. Fact.

Most people I see in public have their mics plugged in but don't ever use them. Even on Gold.
