Help us bring to life The Hobbit (or at least the 1977 animated musical television special version, which was based on the classic 1937 book by J.R.R Tolkien). This event will be performed as a stage play within the world of Arenthyor, specifically the fey city of Ithaeria. The play will be positioned as a work of fiction by one of the fey bards and performed in front of a live audience (all are welcome to attend the performances).
I am looking to put together a small team of interested persons (people familiar with the DM client or those willing to learn) to stage the play and adopt the roles that are needed. This promises to be extremely fun, totally different, and likely a first of its kind - not something to be missed, whether as an actor or audience!
Requirements include:
[*]Flexible schedule to pactice - generally in the 8pm Eastern US Time (GMT -5). I'm targetting 3 full rehearsals before we're ready for prime-time with a couple of performances to be scheduled.
[*]Willing to have fun doing something different
Preferred: Experience with DMFI (though not required)
Available Roles:
[*]DM1: Gandalf, Troll William
[*]DM2: Bilbo
[*]DM3: Thorin, Troll Tom, Smaug (the dragon)
[*]DM4: Bombur, Troll Bert, Bard the Guardsman (human leader)
[*]DM5: Elrond, Goblin King, Gollum, Balin, Misc Dwarves, Elven King
[*]VFX: Visual Effects Operator/Spawn Controller/Various
[*]Camera Operator/Recorder (so that this performance can go into your permanent record and be considered for the Academy Award/BAFTA recognition it will most certainly deserve) - needs to have some kind of video capture software
[*]Crowd Control (someone to be on-hand to make sure the audience is reasonably behaved)
As you can see, there's a tight list of people, but each actor will have a significant character to play. Understudies for each role are available as well.
You will receive a copy of the play, with all your lines and emotes listed, so you can litterally cut and paste during the event. There's even direction as to where you enter the stage, where you exit, and other actions. We'll practice a few times to ensure everyone is comfortable with hitting their marks and their lines.
Once a team has been put together, we can determine schedules of practices and performances.
Who's interested in a truly unique experience?
