Good idea, but quite a few problems.

1. too much voice acting and cutscenes for each character
2. no salvage. if it was included you could simply go in, salvage something, then die and get FAST credits.
3. you can't be doing the same missions over and over again. it only works with regular mp because you just fight enemies.

it would be nice, but it will not happen.

I cant even say yes to this because the idea is so ludicrous that it just will never even have a possibility of ever happening.

As has been said, I'd gladly pay for this kind of dlc/ expansion

This would be amazing.

EDIT: Added a link to this thread in my sig. Here's to hoping this doesn't die too quickly.

Why thank you, kind sir!

Like I said though, it's unlikely, even with BioWare seeing this, that it'll happen. Way too much coding and duct tape needed for it to work.

I love this idea, but as other folks have pointed out, cutscenes are both bad multiplayer game design, and would demand too much in the way of resources from Bioware, making it unlikely that they'd go through such trouble.

However, it could still be possible to do linear missions where the team progresses through a level - it'd simply have to rely on a voiceover narrator or other audio transmissions, much like the current operator who announces stuff in multiplayer matches.

Great idea, but way too ambitious.

1. Voice actors for the multiplayer characters don't seem to be hard to hire. Also, we won't be seeing any of the plotline main characters. How hard would it be to voice an Elcor?

2. Credits are collected at the end of a mission. The last (and often biggest) Salvage is close to the end of a mission, so "farming" in that regard would be inefficient. Also, a squad will perpetually respawn at a checkpoint for every wipe. The only way out is to abort, or finish the mission.

3. That, I know. The randomized Salvage locations and different class personalities would eventually run dry. However, it opens up a permanent aspect to the MP, which isn't Horde Mode. It's entirely optional.

And I wholly agree it is rather unlikely to happen.

Great idea, I disagree with mission locks tho. In any case, Vancouver would be neat near the beginning too, right when the reapers attack earth. Basically, any place you were during the SP plot, except with your own team and a different set of objectives. Surkesh with Salarians w/ XP or Cred boost, Rannoch with Quarians/Geth, Terminus systems (Vorcha), Tuchanka with Krogans, etc.

I love the idea! I had a similar one except these situations would take place across the mass effect timeline, like at the skillian blitz or the turian's civil war and historical events like that as a way of transitioning the series from Shepard. But this is grat too!

Right, but it's worth at least trying, right? At least now we have a 0.01% chance of success, right?

EDIT: One possibility is that to start it off, they could just modify some of the existing missions in ME3's SP mode. That way, we get a feel for the new mode, BW would get it done much faster, everyone profits.

The dialogues would probably be a bit too ambitious, though, unless they were just unvoiced, which is wholly possible (assuming this whole idea is). I mean, there's a LOT of VA's you'd need to have saying the same line to implement voice-acting, you know? As a game programmer myself, I know, it's not easy.

I think this should be possible, though. I mean, the DLC that's been done for the Mass Effect series so far didn't seem possible (did anyone SERIOUSLY expect Gear? Or Lair of the Shadow Broker?), this would be the hardest one yet, but the PRIIIIIZE.

EDIT2: Get used to this XD As one guy said, linear missions would probably do a lot more justice than storyline cutscenes, anyway. The current multiplayer has kinda spoiled us with the game's combat system, so I doubt people would appreciate long breaks in the action (especially if the party leader goes afk :pinched:) in a multiplayer game like this.

Nice ideas here, especially the Elcor setting.

How about a Sanctuary Setting:

Shepard hasn't touch all the horrors that lie in the dungeons of this facility, his mission being a priority. N7 teams are sent to clean out the facility.
Enemies: Reapers, Cerberus, Mad Experiments.

One of the best idea, well done OP. I would gladly pay for something like this.

Alas, you're not the first to think of it but you're certainly better than others. However, I read somewhere that BW do not have any plan for new game mode. Kind of sad, really.

VA for different mission is good, I got bored of our current radio guy for a while already. Some well known voice from SP like EDI or Liara could be used to guide the players through the stage. An Elcor radio guy probably be the most funny you got.

Actually, the idea of linear mission for MP is a bit dulled. How many times could you possibly play the same mission over and over again? I believe map designer got a lot of work to do, designing multiple paths in the same mission or force the players into different teams to complete multiple objectives simultaneously ( suicide mission style ).

Well, keep hoping guys.

I think this is a great idea. Unlike Multiplayer this DLC would have new missions to do and new dialogues/cutscenes to listen to, has mulitplayer can only add (at the moment) new characters and new Maps. Then after 10 or so games with them they get tiresome and boring. Your idea has a lot more playtime. As i would love to play the sp with friends, this is basically allowing players to do so. Any more great ideas for us?

None that I can think of. There's another good thread that recently popped up about taking on a Reaper Destroyer. That sounds like a great idea.

I had originally thought about the reaper destroyer idea. On Reapers, instead of a extraction, the team has to fight a reaper destroy (or temporally disable it) to allow the shuttle to come in and extract the squad. At wave 11 there's a single heavy weapon (Cain, Arc projector etc) to destroy the reaper, or (to disable it) something similar to enabling and disable the devices on the waves 3, 6 and 10 but not exactly. Maybe some sort of reaper protection force protecting the destroyer controls (1 or 2 Marauders, a brute and a Ravenger.), but at the same time keeping a time limit (not 2 mins, about 10 or 15) otherwise the team gets wiped out by the destructive force of the destroyer. Mainly to make the Reapers the life ending force that Bioware sought out to make them, instead of hiding behind cover when a Banshee start to warp to make her glitche. Also a sovereign type battle would be nice.

I'd definitely pay for this. If I understand you correctly we would still be using our characters from the current MP, with the builds we have set up and everything, right? Because that's what I personally want, a new game mode to be able to use my characters in. And if Bioware cut back on some of the extra stuff you mention (some of it seems to be involving new dialogue, for example) I don't think this is that unrealistic. Here's hoping for something similar to this in the future.

My major beef with this idea, is the matchmaking would still swallow donkey balls.  meaning the best I could likely manage would be a PUG instead of a proper team.

So in these cinematic adventures I get... retartds sprinting around the map trying to outrun the spawns for the epic win.  Or something.  I'm just glad that how civilians play games is totally unrelated to how the military fights wars.  I'll leave it at that.

Yeah, the same characters. XP earned goes towards the whole class, as per usual. Different class/race combos would have different personalities though. I'd imagine the Asari Vanguard being much more brash than the Adept.

If there is banter, hope it's like dragon age: origins. Something like Alistair and Morrigan.

You could also have the DLC link with SP DLC. Like when we get omega you could have a team explore another part of the station. You would get bonuses for batarian, Vorcha, and maybe krogan.
Awesome idea count my vote

yes to all of this. shame they wiil just milk the horde mode until we are all sick to death of fire base white; which i think all us gamers that have played since day one, are already!

It might just be my imagination/poor memory, but I'm sure at that last convention, someone asked about BWs plans for MP DLC and they hinted new game modes were in the works/being considered. I got the impression from what little it was it might be something mission based or similar to Halo Reach's Invasion mode.

But I might well be wrong; I've got no idea what thread I think I saw it in.

I fully support this, the Galaxy at War is pointless anyways as galactic readiness barely changes the now mediocre endings, I wish MP was actually connected to SP.
