So I decided to play through all the ME games in one go, and got as far as ME3, but it just wont lauch anymore.

Game goes fine up until it has to start connecting to the EA servers for the first time, right after the Bioware and EA logos on the omnitool, and I get to push a button to get forward, but then it just freezes. No crash error, no nothing, just freezes, with the music playing in background. I even let it sit there for about 2 hours while I went to do some errands, but it still-wont-move.

Anti-virus checked, Advanced Systemcare 5 Pro's deep care has been used, internet connection stable (even checked with the ISP; nothing wrong on their end, and I can confirm that there's nothing wrong on my end, either) but the game just wont launch properly.

Checked some threads that seemed similar here on the forums, and the Bioware topic from Chris Priestly, but nothing has changed; I still cant even get to where I can load my game.

AMD Phenom II X4 955, AM3 socket
Radeon HS 4850
4GB DDR3 memory (getting it up to 8GB in a couple of days)
Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-bit, fully updated

Nothing has been changed systemwise from the last playing session.

Any help would be appreciated, since I'm just about ready to toss the whole of Origin and Mass Effect 3 out of the figurative window into the figurative seagull.

Have your checked to see if there's an updated driver for your video card?

Also, is your game up to date for patch 1.03?

Drivers are up to date, and so is the game. I've installed the latter three times after getting this error, in hopes it was only a faulty installation.

There "Repair Install" via Origin?

Done that too.
Wonder if I need to have all the free DLC marked as owned. I just did a complete reinstall of Origin because it didnt even start, and now I see I've only got Rebellion, but not resurgence, Extended Cut or earth.

Perhaps. Do you have a firewall it might be having issues with?

Edit: I found this thread, sounds like a simular issue.

Not the same issue, I'm afraid. He had an actual crash to desktop, whereas my game is just freezing. Only thing my event viewer shows for masseffect3.exe is the error when a registry entry gets forcibly unloaded, like in all of those cases where I've had to reboot my computer when the process wont go away.

EDIT: Forgot to say. The only firewall I have on is the F-Secure one, and I've tried with having F-Secure completely disabled. Didn't do anything, same issue remained.

DX is updated too.
I'm starting to think it's something to do with the latest update. I could verify it, if Origin had an option to turn off the autoupdate of games

I'm reinstalling the game with no updates  now (unless Origin downloads the latest version straightaway, even with automatic updates off). I'll inform if it helps.

EDIT: Clean install with no patches didnt help. Thinking of asking the EA support if I'm being actively blocked, since this happens at the communicating part.
Also thinking of just loading a damn crack and seeing if I can at least play singleplayer with that. Paying 50 euros for a game, then not being able to play at all after a certain timeperiod just smells of scam.

EDIT2: Some people have gotten the game to load from a similar situation by updating Origin to a beta version. Didnt work for me, even though the new version is definitely an improvement. I'm also wondering why my MassEffect3.exe is marked as *32 when it's supposed to be *64. Or does this game not have a 64-bit version at all?

And now I tried playing ME3 on my brothers computer on my own Origin account, and it works fine. What the big meaty sausage.

Okay, finnish EA support replied. Apparently the problem is with my modem, a Cisco EPC3825, which cant apparently open up enough ports. That would explain the lag I've gotten in most online games since I got it.
Gonna have to call my ISP on monday and ask for a new one.
