ME2, Samara states they're sterile. Bonding with one only leads to the death of the "father", with no possibility of offspring.

They are sterile but they still have to take the positons to have sex.  It is like if a eunuch and ovarian cancer surivivor that had to give up her ovaries had sex.  There is no way they could reproduce but they would still have to do certain things for it to be sex.

Not wondering if they can have babies, just if they can have sex. I'd imagine that all those ardak yakshi in the monastery would have to kill time somehow when they're not doing all the nun stuff.
