Hang on, where did my medigel supply go? Why "Stomping" on Gold/Platinum is ridiculously horrendous and NEEDS TO GO.

It is fine as is though maybe they should have maybe 5 second delay before they stomp. I have witnessed oddities as having a lone trooper standing by my body but he waits for a far away trooper to come stomp me 10 seconds later. LOL.

I always found it odd gold didn't ahve stomps but the easier difficulties did. There is a solution and it is use your medigel. I use mine to help the team but even in wave 10 objectives people bleed out or get stomped when they didn't use one the whole match let alone a rocket. People hoard so they have 255 and get other gear. I am sick of carrying these people but I do it so I get the credits.

I use far more playing with randoms than friedsd and that is par for the course. Either take your wipe and less credits or use your gear.

I've only played silver, because i'm not good enough to reach the lofty goals of the gold and plat players in the game. Stomp has existed since the beginning, but never ever have I been stomped without knowing it's going to happen. You get a good 1-2 second delay in animation where you know it's coming and can use the medgel, so why wouldn't you? Anyone who doesn't is simply getting stomped out because A. they don't have gels B. Know there are only one or two enemies left so they wait for others to finish it C. Don't want to use their "precious supply" of medgels on something like reviving over an "unfair" game feature. What a vast majority of the post since tuesday have come down to is "now I can't buy my PSP's because I have to buy jumbo packs, so now I won't have all the characters and all my ultra cool ultra rare weapons maxed." Take a look at my manifest, I don't have alot maxed out, but it's been because of the fact that it's been a requirement to get more jumbo packs to make sure I have enough to not get stomped and to be a good teammate on the field and not leaving behind everyone else to carry my load.

Play Reapers Gold. No stomping there.

but then, bioware dude said cannibals are supposed to be able to puke on downed players to execute them but it's currently bugged (explaining that cannibals are shy) and they're trying to fix it. if they do succeed, they will be *quick merciless* executions on every gold match.

/sighs/ it's quite annoying. but what I find truly frustrating is the rarity of medi-gels. forces me to either play on lower difficulties or risk contributing quick failure to a PUG.

Yeah, medigels are sooo raaare in jumbo packs. Grow up and start buying some equipment packs, PSP is not the only one!

I am glad the stomping thing is working properly now. My most common cause of mission failure on Gold used to be teammates who waited until the LAST possible second to use their medi-gel, hoping somebody else would break first, rather than just reviving each other and playing the damn game. Now there's a real incentive to not just lie on the ground playing dead.

Plus, I kind of appreciate something that makes Gold a little tougher without having Banshees, Phantoms, and Primes all attacking you at once (as in Platinum). Gold should be tough!

I've literally seen players executed within the same half-second they go down. It's like every mook is porting around its own little Synckill.

If the intention was to get players to camp the crap out of things and never do anything else, fission mucking accomplished I suppose, but this pretty much penalizes any player who tries to fight on the move. It's really telling that I was able to reliably get the low-rankers on my team through gold reliably, but post-patch, I'm lucky if I can keep them alive past wave 5 without cramming on every single piece of top-level consumable gear I have, so this double-penalizes the low-ballers, and disincentivizes bringing them to gold early on for credits. Because endlessly grinding Bronze and Silver for packs they could afford infinitely easier with what used to be a fairly easy assisted gold run is clearly the best idea ever for the newblets.

I wouldn't like it removed, but maybe at least make it so you can't be stomped until you're half bled out? I've been stomped in the process of falling to the ground, before it is possible to even use medigel.

TL; DR: It really REALLY HELPS to have a plan around your character and search for games that match your planned character's gameplay.

COOL STORY, BRO: Hey,uh, so I recently made the transition from doing silver with my friends to doing randoms on gold. I decided I needed training wheels of sorts so I sat down and thought pretty hard about the kind of games I wanted to play and built my "gold character".

I don't care for geth hunters on rollerskates, and I just get stressed out trying to fight banshees - something about the pitch of their howl just makes me grate my teeth, so I decided I'd only fight Cerberus and designed the anti-Cerby guy:

N7 Destroyer, specced out of the bottlerocket launcher, with Falcon X (clip/barrel) and Piranha I (choke/shredd). Multifrags are specced to five grenades.

I decided to make it a personal policy to always have at least two gel and rockets handy so I could have an acceptable amount of Derp That Was Dumb moments where I do something colossally silly and get killed, and I could contribute at least one rocket to two Kill 4 Guys waves.
I also made it a personal policy to start chipping into my consumable stores that I never use - so I always use an adrenaline mod, a shotgun amp, and usually cryo rounds.

The whole plan is: open every engagement with the Falcon. Against a single target it is indeed very small damage, but it stunlocks and freezes or chills. The ROF buff of Devastator Mode lets you alternate fire between two groups. That means this character can effortlessly kill two different spawns of early-game Cerberus mooks and rack up hilarious amounts of points from killing three guys at a time. I'm not even kidding, on FB: Hydra the Falcon is totally out of control. All the ranges are perfect for constant Falcon spam.

Up close, switch to multifrags and the ever-trusty piranha to chew through multiple slow/large bunches of guys in a big hurry. Against Phantoms, since my aim is not that great I prefer to use the Falcon as it is a guaranteed Phantom kill the second you hit with a single shot. Since Falcon is guaranteed stagger on Troopers it is great for preventing stomps and assisting any other class in the game with its stagger, freeze, and modest AOE damage. The Piranha simply mows through Atlases, Turrets, and Guardians.

Bam. I have a class/gun combination that counters every threat Cerberus can throw at me. Even though I'm not very good, I can play U/C/G with something like a 80%+ success rate and ... while it is extremely cliche to do so ... I do very well on the scoreboards. Regularly I've had such an effective weapons setup that I've outscored the rest of the team combined up 'till wave 6 just because of how effective the Falcon is at locking down whole Cerberus Spawns. Fails tend to involve my own mistakes as much as crappy teammates - things like going out in the open when I really should hang back, or deciding to gamble on Piranha headshots vs that Phantom when the Falcon would have been a guaranteed but slower and less exciting kill.

My advice to OP, then: Choose your battles wisely. If you can't depend on your team, depend on yourself by making sure you have the equipment, the guns, and the class to handle whatever you feel comfortable with. Then set your quick-match search parameters to what you feel comfortable with. If Stomping is the problem, choose classes and powers that don't require being out of cover for long, prioritize stompers (AOE damage helps here as it lets you hit higher-value targets while weeding otu the stompers skirting around them), and above all else just grind out a quick Silver run once in a while to pick up a JEP. While it's irritating to break a Spectre/PSP streak, I know I'd want the randoms I'm teamed with to bring gel and rockets to the party so I try to hold myself to that standard and make sure I bring enough insurance that I can correct for my mistakes whenever possible.

So... yeah. Try to adapt, rethink your guns or powers or class, accept a non-100% success rate... and have fun! :D

Maybe as a counter, players can also have a chance to curbstomp enemies that are knocked down, like in Gears of War. ;)

Also, Kroguard biotic charge should knock down most cannonfodder, especially on bronze/silver. Tell me Grunt or Wrex wouldn't go around doing that, and then curbstomp them for good measure while they're down. ;)

4 enemies can stomp you.  2 of them are on Cerberus (Atlas and Trooper).  The Reapers have the Cannibal while Geth have the troopers.  It does not really cause problems.  The jumbo equipment pack has the ability to replace your medigel and then some after using 5

Platinum stomping only occurs on wave 1, 2, and 5 (troopers on one and two and the Atlas on 5), except for Cerberus, who have the Atlas. Then its 1,2,3,4,6,8,9,10,Extraction.

All that aside, I haven't the stomping change at all
