But how do you use the Specialization points. I haven't quite figured out how to use them and I have one, do you need more than one?

level 7 and 14 is when you may use them providing you have unlocked them

thorough doing certain quest and buying books and also the decision you make about conner unlocks bloodmage if you bargain with demon. also companions if they like you enough will teach their specs.

Okay, see now im getting somewhere, My husband bought me the game for the upcoming holiday and I've been playing non stop since I got it. But just couldnt figure out how to use the specialization points. Thank you for answering me.
