The folks behind the 'ME3: Towards a Consensus' project and the 'Mass Effect Universe' survey have come together on something even better! Why? Does “Because we can”suffice? Otherwise we will resort to “The voices in our heads...”. Ah, the smell of Indoctrination in the morning!
Who's involved
This collaborative effort between the authors/developers (read 'deluded masochists') of...
· 'Mass Effect Universe' survey - noni123
· 'ME3 Ending: Towards A Consensus' surveys - Ofish, MikeC99
Both survey teams were acknowledged by Bioware, and hopefully played some part, albeit limited, helping to steer the ME3 Extended Cut in a better direction than it otherwise might have gone.
Several months ago MikeC99 initiated contact with noni123 and started the process that has lead to us all agreeing to work together on this multi lingual follow-up survey.
Who should participate?
If you've finished ME3 with and without the Extended Cut we would love to hear your opinion on it. Head on over to Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut Survey (http://bit.ly/MF50GE) and help us tell Bioware what the fans really think of all their hard work!
Project goals
1. To finalise the ME3 Towards A Consensus project and the Mass Effect Universe survey by getting the players/fans assessment of how much and how well Bioware addressed the issues. We wanted: to see if and how the
opinions on the game (especially the endings) have changed; to compile a comparison between ‘with and without’ EC; and to assess if players are happier now with the game overall
2. Those who have read – or at least looked at – the reports from the surveys will know that some very serious hours were spent on analysing and presenting the results. We will do the same for this survey.
3. The process that everyone has gone through regarding the ME3 ending saga/ fiasco has set a precedent. It has also established and clarified communication and liaison expectations between players and game development companies, specifically with Bioware, but again more generally as a precedent. Having established a new baseline, things will revert unless we keep pressing on positively and constructively.
4. By working together and doing a joint survey in several languages we are able to reach a wider range of the ME
fan community all around the world. More participants equals more reliable results, and a single survey hopefully focuses attention and saves everyone from duelling surveys.
Final thoughts
In conclusion, we felt that with all the time and effort that has gone into completing the surveys, we owed it to you to take this process to its logical conclusion.
The survey is not short – no apologies for that. Again, we hope that those who have seen the previous reports will understand the amount of work and the results (hopefully) will more than repay your time and effort to complete this (final – we swear!) survey.
As always, we are more than happy to take any questions or feedback. And as always, we would ask that in the on-going spirit of this work, keep it respectful and constructive.
Many thanks
Ofish, Noni, MikeC99
