Taken. I wonder what they would get out of this, although its always a good idea to get a feel for what people are thinking.

Done.
I guess they could use this feedback to determine whether they should use similar concepts presented in the ME3 endings in future games.

He's saying that this info might help Bioware decide if they would want to use this concept of an ending (Major choice at end, open for lot of speculation, etc) in any of their next games.D24O wrote...

Thanks all - re Thane - we were looking for LI in ME3 - according to the ME romance wiki (*see my reply to lanceSolus above) , Thane is not ... ahem ... 'available' in ME3. If you can confirm otherwise, please let us know and we can fix it!
Re why do this/ what does it matter now/ Bioware won't care by now etc etc. As I tried to set out in the OP, there is indeed a bigger picture beyond the immediate ME3 ending saga. Bioware have applied what they see as a fix to the situation, within the parameters they set for themselves. Does it have legs as a precedent? Which - if any - or their fixes worked, more or less? This survey won't - and I'd argue nothing else anyone could do now - change the ME3 end as it now is. But anything on the horizon should take into account what we all thought of the 'fixes' - both specifically and as generic approaches - hence the questions about preference for ending types in general, among other aspects of the survey. Whatever happens, telling Bioware specifically what worked and what didn't and what things people wanted in general terms has to be useful. But as we've said all the way since the first survey - no guarantees this means any of it will be used. I really do believe this is a long haul and to pull the plug now out of (granted completely understandable!) frustration and disappointment will achieve nothing. I believe everything that we've done (and I mean the whole community reaction, not just these surveys) has made a difference. I also believe Bioware felt constrained as to what they could do with this ending. My personal view - having been project manager for very large and expensive projects - is that when the folks with the purse strings say 'Enough!' there is stuff all room to move; like it or lump it, that's just the economic realities. All - and the best - we can do is to keep telling the same story - constructively and respectfully - but persistently. The alternative - say nothing, do nothing - just guarantees nothing will change in the long term.
Gak - sorry - off my soap box now!!!! LOL!
cheers

submitted. extended cut and the ME3 ending in general is garbage. it's SO garbage it just tarnishes the entire series. that's some smelly garbage son. if they want to see another cent from me they better change their act right fast, I'm sure there's plenty of people who think the same way.

You are right that Thane does NOT give the player the Paramour Achievement, just like Jacob Taylor. However, I think the complaint (if that is even the right word for this) is that Thane and Jacob were both legitimate LI's in ME2, and when you import a Thanemanced or Jacobmanced Shepard, the import information does correctly show that they were your Shepard's chosen love interest. I don't know a single Thanemancer or Jacobmancer that went into this game believing that their LI's of choice would be negated, and most considered their Sheps to still be in those romances regardless of the outcome bw chose to do with said LI's.
I personally don't qualify for your Survey (as I know a few others as well don't) because I never finished the game. On top of that, I only ever considered my Thanemancers to be, well......Thanemancers. I personally had 4 of them; only one of them ever was with another LI from ME1 (romanced Kaidan with my Evan Shepard), the rest were single through ME1, then chose Thane in ME2. I got "sucka" scrawled across my forehead....*smirk*.

best case scenario the community will do what they can to salvage what's left of the story.
If bioware doesn't care about it anymore, the fans will pick up the pieces themselves. sad day that is.

I just wanted to clarify something regarding Thane. The criteria we used to select the list of LI's for the survey was the list of characters you can romance from the ME wiki. After looking it over again right now I see that like Thane, Diana Allers also does not reward you the 'paramour achievement'. It's definitely inconsistent to have one and not the other...
You are able to edit the survey at a later date so bear with us while we see if its feasible to add Thane without screwing up the database of survey responses we've received so far. Mike or I will post something about it as soon as we can sort this out.

Update: Well that was much easier than I thought it would be
You SHOULD be able to change your answer to Thane now for the LI question. Let me know if you are still having trouble changing it.
