I'm looking to make a Gold build for the Raptor, but I need some advice. I was thinking bout using GI for the massive damage boost. If you have alternatives/advice, post it up!

You will probably get some haters in this thread but ignore them, this gun can sing. I'm not sure how console compares to PC, so take into account that I have only used it on the PC.
I love the Raptor and would recommend any character that you like using the Mattock on, as it is like getting a free scope mod. So long as you have a quick trigger finger and the stamina to keep it up, the gun has awesome accuracy.
I would also recommend using it on tech characters with the gear that gives bonuses to sniper and tech damage. The human engineer can really shine spamming overload and headshotting stunned enemies.

As a Valiant user, I disagree.
But the Raptor is not the best as an SR on gold. The reason is that it doesn't hit hard enough. You are scoped in and not moving, even cloaked, it will take you time to get off enough shots to kill/strip shields off an enemy. You will be exposed to fire this entire time. You are better off with a more powerful shot. You can't afford to be out of cover and zoomed in that much on gold.

You can hipfire w/o the huge SR penalty, but yeah, it is less effective on gold.

I used to use the Raptor on Gold for some reason. It can work, but for a change, I'll agree with everyone else here.
Have you tried using the Crusader, absolute fun on the Geth Infilrator. Don't let the Gold meta ruin your game.

The valiant, black widow and even indra are pretty good substitutes IMO.
I usually have a valiant on my male quarian inf. since it has a nice rate of fire and super fast reload.
I use the indra on my geth inf. (don't care what anybody else says and I don't have the javeline yet) and it's not too bad if you're good at keeping the Xhairs on the heads of enemies, or in controlled bursts.

The Raptor just isn't good enough to warrant use on Gold. Sure, you might be able to make it work and it would be challenging. But it's just artificially gimping yourself. If you want an actual challenge then try out Platinum.

That's because the GI specializes in Burst damage as opposed to sustained.

human infiltrator i ususally go with the female and make myself a nemesis.
i use mag and barrel. i put armor piercing, adrenaline, sniper rifle damage weapon mod and headshot gear.
i dont use sticky grenades. i have tac cloak damage recharge and fire one power. cryo blast for debuffing & freezing, all weapon damage + headshot damage. and all shields for fitness.

Yeah, I'd like the Nemesis rifle, because if that's a Raptor, I want to know WTF I've got in MY armory lol
Same goes for the Marauder Phaeston.
