Why not.

  • Global Tactics Toggle - http://img175.images.../678/486ii0.jpg - That's Baldur's Gate 1. See that highlighted button in the lower-right corner? Toggle Party AI. Dragon Age needs that. or at the very least, do not let the AI override any manually-given orders underway. Hold Ground doesn't seem to work well enough in that matter.

  • Remember Party positions across cutscenes? This might be tricky in order to let all the members quip in during NPC dialog, but it can get frustrating when you have to reposition everyone at the beginning of tough battles, in case there's mages etc. standing on higher ground, for example, and you want to take em out as quickly as possible.

  • Moar Numbers? Make it so that we can get all the statistics and stuff without having to use third-party mods, like that one for Detailed Tooltips, which shows the exact calculations involved in Spell-Power damage and so on. Even if you prefer to dumb down the UI for the casual/console crowd, please provide an option for roll logs etc. on the PC at least!

  • Make Specializations more ..special? Maybe it's just me, but keep the class Specialization options hidden by default, and have them require one or more [elaborate] quests to unlock, no Manuals. Let the Specializations affect your dealings with NPCs as well, possibly opening up new side-quests and stuff? For example, you could run missions for the Assassins Guild only if you were an Assassin.

  • Day/Night cycle and Time-based Quests? I liked that about Lothering, even if it was a mandatory event. Maybe DA2 could take the distance between locations into account and maintain a game-world clock in the background? Different NPCs/events would be active depending on whether you arrived at your destination during the day or the night, and maybe some minor optional quests/locations would not be available anymore if you took a lot of game-days in getting to them. or.. never mind, probably will be more bother than it's worth... :? but even a superficial nychthemeron cycle would be nice.

There's a similar thread that I missed before starting this; http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/9/index/362117/1

Everything that makes DA:O so great, but this time with an open world with random (plot) encounters fancily implemented. Make the player be sucked in by an active ambient environment as much as the excellent story and dialogue and you'll be golden.. :) In 2009, it is possible to create an immersive open world that supports the plot and game and adds an extra layer of 'epic' to the game. Examples around ;)

Edit: While the story intends to immerse the player, the extensive map travel gives the impression of playing a board game, detracting from that again. In the old 2D days it was a necessity because of hardware limits, today it's not needed anymore.

More party NPCs.

More emphasis on the setting than on the Darkspawn invasion.

That's my wants anyway.

More party NPCs.
Edit: Actually, - what I really want is more than 4 members in the party.

The only other thing I want is developers to consider "realism" a bit for the gameplay mechanics, so we don't just play a paradigm. ...and less sucky endings...

Otherwise everything is fine.

- A direct continuation of your character from DA1 and your choices made from the first game (hopefully bioware finds a way to pull it off).

-Some closure on the major characters and party companions if they don't accompany you the second time around

-Continuation of the Morrigan/Flemeth storyline. Maybe something to do with The Architect. Make it different than "Oh, another blight is coming! Let's get everyone's support!" otherwise it'd feel too much like the first game

-Having more than 4 party members at a time

-I'm probably going to get a lot of disagreement from everyone but a different style of sword fighting. DA1 has a very "WOW" type of sword attack in this game, where you click on an enemy and let the computer determine whether or not you hit. I tend to prefer sword gameplay where I'm more in control of my fighting (think Blade of Darkness, Prince of Persia, Assasin's Creed, etc.). Of course managing 4 or more party members would be extremely difficult in this scenario.

Non-Linear would be nice...and yes i know they are different endings and different choices to make but for the most part in the game you Always have to go to Haven...you always have to go to the dalish camp...you always have to go to redcliffe...you always have to go...etc...I wanted the option to go to orlais or north and find the other grey wardens!

There is too much fighting in DA. Little pieces of (repetitive) lore don't carry the incredible amount of minimal tactical fighting in the dungeons of DA. Less epicness would be fine, if it helps to improve the pacing and atmosphere.

the combat system needs to be rebuilt for me to consider buying a sequel, I'd also personally like a little more complex and less generic story,

Starting equipment needs to be based on talent placement (in descending order), not just race/class.

If I put all my points into Archery I start with a bow, if I split them up between two weapon styles, top style takes precedence.

More epic fights, less zerg fights.

I liked the d&d combat based in NWN. Also, the combat log with rolls and info. I miss that in Dragon Age a bit.

More hairstyles and armor choices.

More options to customize a character. (optional)

All I'd like to see is the option to make my character left handed (Southpaws ftw), and the inclusion of at least one new kind of weapon tree.

AI toggle = definitely.

Alternatively even different AI script setups, so you could switch from "tashmob" to "boss" easily.

Rest of stuff = meh. I would love it if there was a toggle to ignore the "position" flag during battle though. If I want to keep formation, I can as well select whole group and move with with right clicks. Its pretty annoying when battle starts and your guys run into "position" first pfft.

10 party npcs are more than enough for a 4 people group. BUT I would prefer it if it where 3 mage 3 rogue 4 warrior-types not 2 mage 2 rogue 6 warrior-types ... one doesnt need warriors THAT urgently really. In fact I would go for 6 mage 2 rogue 2 warriors if it comes to what is needed ...

-FPP view
-Autorun
-Carrot&Stick mechanism for items (itemisation is tragic in DA:O at the moment)
-More classes
-Respec option
-More random/hidden boss fights (like super big ogres etc,)
-Less useless dialogues & more action

And for god's sake - dont lock the game (or should I say map) after we finish it, let us travel a bit.

*No more trash loot
*No more marginally useful crap like Grounding Potions and Fire Crystals to have to pick up
*Auto-looting corpses similar to Mass Effect
*No more lame quests to find stuff you can only hope to stumble upon or collect X body parts
*No more dwarf chore-fests or the Deep Roads fight every 5 seconds experience
*No more pre-selected PC skills and talents
*Helmet toggle

Without wishing to put spoilers in here I think DAO suffers from being the most immersive RPG I've played.

There were many times when I wanted a dialogue options to come up to express what I was really feeling but it didn't (e.g. as a male declaring my love for Alistair even if he didn't love me etc). I clicked with the humour of the game and many of the characters and its mature content and so I wanted to be able to do and say many things I couldn't. But any fully voiced RPG must cost a lot of money to produce and the more complicated its lines and character interactions to more costly it becomes so I don't begrudge Bioware for having to limit dialogue choices but I got so involved at times that I got a touch frustrated. I blame Alistairs character for this primarily (for various reasons which I won't go into on a no-spoiler forum).

I would have loved a more complex interaction with party members and less mindless combat.

The game is long largely because parts of it are overly long - some of the quests are too combat orientated.

ME provided a cinematic feel that DAO lacked a touch (voiced protagonist helped) but despite being short was still sweet because it didn't have quite so much repetitive 'dungeon crawling' as DAO.

"Wishlist for Dragon Age 2?" - because game creators will be reading this message in 5 years when DAO 2 is done.

or else, could be talking about an expansion in a much ignored thread that was posted twice. Mods could be making it right now as we speak.

Actually ya people are heading into the wrong direction, what do you wish for DA:O 1 is more appropiate.. merely as it would be added in over time I assume.. DA:O 2 is DA:O 1 just enhanced with DLCs... and a posible future expansion.

For me.. I wouldn't mind seeing the following implemented in DA:O2

*More class specific sidequests, I liked the separate origin quests in the beginning, but after that most of the game became the same no matter what class you were. I guess more quests like if you have a rogue and then specialized as a bard it would open up some espionage styled quests or an anti-mage questline if you chose a warrior and specialized as a Templar.

*Expanding into other countries, not basing the whole of the game in one country, but multiple .. like starting off in Ferelden and then maybe exploring into Orlais. That way you could possibly do a continuance of the character.

*Continuance possibility of the PC from the original DA:O with a heightened level cap.

*More height/weight/width and other body types/morphs available in the character generator
