Lag doesn't have much to do with EA's servers beyond telemetry data.

lag only happens when you suck at this game.

Wifi is bad because the internet speed fluctuates all over the place and is usually lower as well. With a wired connection you are more likely to get a constant internet speed so that is always better.
Same goes for framerate. If you play at a low framerate and/or it is fluctuating a lot between 30-60fps, your gameplay experience will not be as smooth and responsive as someone playing at a locked 60fps with no fluctuation in fps.
In order to have the best lag free experience possible you need to use a wired connection and a PC capable of playing the game at 60fps or above.

Wires! In this day & age? My router is like 50 feet away, may bee more. Sounds expensive.. is it? I get lag but I try to make up for it by dodging while not being shot. Doesn't help much but stil a work in progress
It looks like you need a 60f cable then....
If you're 50 feet away chances are that the WiFi signal is also weak/disrupted...

Pretty sure I just went over this in detail in a different thread. Again.
It's this one:

You don't need a 50+ft cable. You need a couple of these:

...or some equivalent, good ones are available from most networking manufacturers for not very much. The last pair I got cost about $100 and those were fancy ones with multiple ether ports (ie, routing capability) and pass through power sockets.
Just check that the power sockets you use are on the same power ring main.
As for cost/convenience, well, if you enjoy your gaming, the wired solution will make the experience a lot more pleasant. A LOT.

If you used tech speak I didn't understand it. Do I look like a quarian engineer?
In that helmet, yes you do ![]()
Whoa that looks awesome & my human mind can comprehend it! Thanks marks mad! Wait. So I plug that into an electrical outlet? One near & connected to a router the other near & connected to Xbox?
Yes, exactly that.
If you are low on electrical sockets then you get variants that plug into the socket but have another socket on the front so you don't lose the power supply for other devices.
Mine all came with at least one ethernet cable, check that the ones you get have this n the box. Also, mine autoconfigured and worked immediately but you can set them up with the supplied software in about 2 minutes.
