I'm running ME 1 on max settings, 1920x1080 and getting 120 fps, but the frame rate keeps catching slightly every now and then. It's slight but annoying nonetheless, I'm wondering if this is a known issue and if I can fix it?

Just for diagnostic purposes, turn off your sound card in your Windows control panel. (Control panel -> hardware and sound -> device manager) Make sure not a single sound card is enabled. Then start the game again and see if you still have the framerate issue. If you don't, the sound card is the problem. Have you tried turning off hardware audio in the ME1 audio options?
