Yep...I picked destroy too and was arguing with the Catalyst kid the same way...and yeah, Shep wasn't doing so good. Her auto-dialogue was making my ears bleed.

Reapers just needed to die...not become my new best friend and saviors of the universe, and not my leashed attack dogs either.  I wonder what the Catalyst would have said if he could have heard the player's questions?... not just Shep's broken ramblings...:huh:

anyway..back to the mp forums. just wanted to peek in here and see how things were doing!:D

Oh this sounds familiar...
The first time I played the EC I had my own conversation, too :
"Yeah shut the **** up, I'm going to end this RIGHT NOW !" (I planned to choose destroy)
"Here take this and farewell !" *BAM*
....
....

Yes loved the OP's post and you are so right here.  So Shep gets to have a conversation with the insane god boy.  I had a few questions for him that are best summed up with Critical Mission Failure.  The questions we get to ask are more like the in depth probing questions asked of Hudson and Walters in the EC announcement.

Things Shepard might say to his new BFF:
"So hey little man, like, what's your favorite color?"
"You going out with anybody right now?"
"Does this charred and bloody outfit make me look fat?"
"I was gonna ask if you have any ammo, silly me"
"Where can I go for a good latte?"
"Gosh, I had this crazy dream last night.  Some stupid kid kept showing up....oh, sorry"

To which the "kid" says:
"Blood red and decaying organic goo green-they're so Christmasy."
"Reapers"
"Let's just put that thing away shall we."
"I have a feeling you won't want one in a few minutes."
"Yeah, that was really cool.  I can see into your dreams, but I know nothing about that whole Geth/Quarian thing.  Ooops, forget I said that."

Seems like there were a lot of people screaming at their TV sets/PC monitors this year.

Little did it help. Turns out, our Shepards obviously trusted the insanity happening around them more than the caring (and, granted at the end, screaming) players, who had been guiding their Shepards through love affairs and dangerous adventures and suicide missions for the last 5 years.

It's called Kinect. Forgive them. PC people don't know. Kinect would recognize "shoot the kid."

Shepard: Tell me about the new solution!


Me: SHEPARD! SHUT YOUR MOUTH!


Catalyst: You will join your essense with the galaxy, combining synthetics with organics, creating a perfect understanding and unity between all life, and a new step in the evolution of everything.


Me: Cool, that sounds pretty insane. I'm going to go ahead and forget you ever told me that, and choose, oh I don't know, destroy?


Catalyst: The choice is yours.


Me: Yeah, the choice laid out by you. Enough of this. This is all bull****. Shepard! Shoot the kid!


Shepard: *bang*


Catalyst: OH NO YOU DIDN'T!


Me: OH YES I DID!


Shepard: What now?


Me: I dunno... Let's watch. And stop drooling, Shepard!
