I was just thinking... if several PC patches are out and the only thing holding up Xbox patch #1 is 'MS certification', then the patch is done and submitted.

So what's in it?  Image IPB

Yes, we know it'll have the acheivement fixes because someone thought that was important for some reason.  Other than that, will it be the same fixes as the PC (i.e. dex fix for daggers) or will it also have Xbox specific fixes(i.e. Codex entries not immediately disappearing when you roll over them).

Can a dev step in and provide us with any insight?  We'd appreciate it as the bugs are impacting our actual gameplay, not just game balance.  Us console players would all appreciate it, thanks!

So far there have been almost no dev/mod responses in this forum. I even tried to find a way to contact Edge of Reality from their website (the company working with Bioware for the DA:O port) and unless you're applying for a job there I don't see any way to contact them.

There are 3 patches for the PC plus the mods from the toolset that fix everything else. Is there really no one out there that can tell me if it's even worth it to start my dual dagger rogue? I don't think we're asking for too much here.

I've checked the other tech forums and see 'Bioware' appear in many of the topics. You don't see that in the xbox forum.

Still no word on the contents of the patch or the timing. What's the harm in letting us know? The DLC announcement was supposed to happen last week and no word on that either.

I guess I'm done talking to the wall.  Image IPB

They say whats keeping them is the verification, but who knows really. Either way, they won't give specifics until its out, they've done that for the PC and thats exactly what they will do with the consoles.

Patch news, you say? That would imply Bioware or EA actually gives a sh!t about their customers. Unfortunately, they already have our money so we no longer count. Heck, they won't even acknowledge game crippling problems like the save feature going corrupt after 60+ hours invested in the game.

To paraphrase Kanye West, EA doesn't care about XBox customers; neither does Bioware. And its a shame, as there just isn't that many good Sword and Sorcery style RPGs. I had high hopes for Dragon Age, and in fact truly enjoyed it until my saves all went corrupt. I haven't tossed the game yet - I'll wait a month or two to see if they are putting out a patch. Until then, I've yet again learned my lesson - "Don't buy an XBox game released in time for Cristmas until at least the March following...

Hello

My weekend is over. We had a good gaming session saturday and sunday. DAO was started up too, because my friends wanted me to do so (I have tried to avoid it), but the servers were up and no timeout error this time. We have discussed the game and talked about the support. I dont think my friends want to buy it now. And I wouldnt either. Next time, that means at ME2, Ill wait too a few months what happens with a released game. No way to get me again in such a bad situation. Yesterday I have talked to my local software dealer, but he wont take DAO back, because I have used the codes too fast, in a expectation of good game support, of a future. Now the software just collects dust here and with ordering Dark Messiah, Crackdown, Fable 2 (international version because of the vocalization), The Godfather and (tada :)) finally Assassins Creed Part 1 yesterday I dont see any changes on this. Beside this my pocket box is empty now. So DLC, whatever it will be, can past by here. Really disappointed. Im just proud, that my customers are served different by me.

Buy? Are you asking me to BUY a game that doesn't work properly?

I've PAID for it when I bought a 'no-support' version of Dragon Age, aka the 360 version.

Also, people usually buy a console version of the game because they can't play it on their PCs.

It used to be that console games were basically bug free but I think those days are over. Now that EA owns most of the companies producing games all we can expect is more and more buggy games because we all know the only thing EA cares about is your money.

Quite ****ing true.

Really step back if we had cartridges again EA and any other publishing company would never be able to get away with this kind of **** on a console. Releasing a buggy game would get you laughed at and mocked and branded as a horrible developer with no way of updating the game in any way or form. EA tries to push out games as quickly as possible to save money on production fees in hopes of making that money back again faster, while Dragon Age is still really fun regardless of bugs its that kind of behavior that is pushing down the standards of games these days and is what kills a lot of potentially good games.

there are 3 pointless patches out for the PC you mean, and not one of them correct the serious game breaking bugs many people are having.

All those patches did was make the game easier, and fix a few little things like daggers not causing correct damage.

Holy crap, I was really taken aback by all the whiny drama emofesting going on here. Then I noticed I was in the console section and not the PC...and it all made sense.

And DAO has run flawlessly for me, much like every other Bioware game I've played. But hey it wouldn't be a Bioware release if there weren't people saying that it's completely unplayable and that they'll be pirating the games from now on (because that obviously justifies it).

Hehe, while I agree to some extent I don't think you should judge all console players as whiny drama emofesters, just the kids who play live and think it is worth a damn are that.

I think people over exaggerate everything on this forum, it is all full of PC bias and people ****ing that the game is horrible because of these "Game Breaking Bugs," Personally the only bugs I have encountered with my 360 version is the ocasional voice tracks not playing or delaying and a couple of long loading times. But really it wouldn't be a GAME release in general now with out a bunch of ****ing about it.

And I know this contradicts a little bit what I said about EA in my other post, I wasn't nessisarily talking about Dragon Age, just my overall expirence with EA.
