Some of the stuff is bad, some problems would have still been in the game, but wow, the majority of this would have been better than what we got. Such a shame :(

There are some really good ideas in there.. mostly those containing the ME2 cast.. my word..bioware. What in the hell were you thinking? Compared kasumi mission to THIS? Kasumi "dies" but a simple explosion and an attitude of "well, that's that." right after? Goodness sakes.. Thane could have had more relevance as well. Along with his son.

I wasn't even against the script in game - heck, even the old endings were whatever. But reading this...makes me feel like the game could have been not good - but fantastic. It could have blown any other 2012 game out of the water if they just included so much more.

I remember reading about the Anderson/Shepard raising their guns at each other in the beta leak.

It also said that "they have a similar feeling that they had in Miranda's mission."

I'm guessing Horizon would have been an indoctrination attempt at Shepard.

Some things would have been better if left as it was, but ah well, what´s done is done.

Again the same old story...
It is a pity that nowadays only the money is important, ME3 ''gearing up'' for the best game in history ...

Man, some really good stuff in that script they cut.

Biggest omision: Shepard having the ability to win traditionally and survive with the highest EMS.

Thanks, Casey/Hudson, for taking that choice out of the game when you made your script solo. Hope you enjoy your demotion.

Some of this stuff is really bad, but some of it is REALLY good. Why the hell would they take some of this stuff out?!

Some of it's good, other parts bad.

They should of just spent an extra year on development.

The only things I wish they had kept were:

The trial sequence; the abandoning of Kahje and the subsequent concentration camp plot with the hanar; retaking Omega, the mission correlating Thane, Kasumi, and Shepard; the expanded inclusion of Javik in the plot; Emily Wong; and perhaps even the Liara/VS choice if done well (I am a fan of multiple playthroughs).

However, I don't think this changes my outlook on the game. I am happy with what we got, and these changes wouldn't have made the experience all too different. Well, Omega would have been nice...

EDIT: I also would have liked the Keeper origins plot that the developers had alluded to in interviews.

My opinion is that they will include some of this stuff in DLC, therefore parts of it have been taken out on purpose. What they don't understand is that few people will play pre-ending DLC with the same enthusiasm as they would have if the content had been included in the game from the very beginning. Just my two cents.

I agree that they will likely make DLC of some of that, but I don't think they took it out for that reason. It's very clearly understood by developers that game life is limited. The longer you wait to release DLC the less likely people are to buy it. More likely is it was taken out, like from ashes, simply due to time restrictions.

Some things are better than what we got and some things are worse. Aside from wanting a better introduction and enjoying the fact that Kasumi got a larger role, I don't mind that the rest was left on the cutting room floor. Do I wish they had taken more time with ME3? Hell, yes. It just doesn't seem necessary to get all upset about it is all. What happened happened and that's all there is to it.

I would have preferred this script, because it would make more sense to go after the Kai Leng if he stole the Catalyst than if he stole a Prothean VI...especially when no one actually bothers taking the VI with them once the fight with Kai Leng is over (and the VI is never again mentioned...what WAS the purpose of the Prothean VI anyways?)

Sadly way better. Udina being fully indoctrinated, while still stupid, better than how he was handled.

I love the bits with the VS and Kai Leng, especially having to have a choice on Thessia. (Die Liara, Die.) It really worked to make Kai actually seem somewhat competent instead of a stupid Cereal Ninja.

The ends are still bad, but that doesn't bear repeating anymore.

This is really good and feel more like a mass effect game. But, it's too late now and BioWare have missed their chance big time. The game as it is now is horrible.

Mass Effect 1 is great. Sure, its obvious that things like Callistan and Eden Prime were really cut back, but it doesn't impact the narrative flow and ete.

What was Callistan?

I googled it, but didn't see anything.

EDIT: NM - found it. Caleston - a doomed mining planet in ME1.

There are a lot of interesting sub-plots that seem to be cut.

Council abandoning Kahje, leading to a mission involving Thane, Kolyat and Kasumi
Liara trying to root out Cerberus Corruption, this also seems to flesh out KL a bit more.
Going around the citadel while being recorded by Emily wong.

Please Bioware release this as DLC
The three sub-plots can all be rolled into one.
