An interesting buff would be to double the damage (normal damage) shorten the charge to 30 rounds, and use a x2 multiplier instead of 4.

Nobody's saying you're wrong, OP, at least on the point that the Particle Rifle could use a buff. They built the base damage around the 4x multiplier, and it takes a fair amount of time to work to that. Even at 4x, it does less damage than the Harrier, and to get there, you have to stick out of cover for longer than most classes comfortably can. It also resets if you get stunned at all. Basically, on anything except a Kroguard or a Destroyer, you actually need a bit of luck to even get it to the point where it does damage comparable to other good ARs, and on these classes, there are almost always going to be more effective options.

A lot of nerfers (yeah, I'm using the term fo the pro-balance crowd in general now, don't hate) to remove the charge-up and give it a better DPS, essentially eliminating what's interesting and unique about the weapon. Personally, I think they should just decrease the charge-up time and boost the damage a tiny bit. They're trying to balance around infinite ammo, but that's barely a benefit with the number of ammo boxes around.

Nope, many posts on here have stated I'm stupid and wrong, and I should probably get off of these forums and never play this game again, and I agree I am stupid, not afraid to admit that, if people really feel the particle rifle is that good, to each his own I assume, also not matter what I say to agree with you, no one will really agree with me at this point, so I should just stop.

The fact that this gun is getting compared at all to the avenger proves it needs a buff.

Or it proves that OP is clueless.

I've not used this weapon but I've seen people shred enemies with it from extremely long ranges; my theory is that it does fairly decent damage (clearly superior to the average **** assault rifle) but it has the further advantage over most others, extreme accuracy (much like the Geth Assault Rifle) so one can easily hit repeatedly in the head from long range.
Again; I have not personally used it so I apologize if I am incorrect.

I just got Particle Rifle II tonight...still haven't used the weapon once. Will do so soon though.

*sigh* He made an honest mistake by overlooking an easily-missed entry in that spreadsheet, and apologized for it and edited the topic. There's no reason to continue making him feel bad.

No need to apologize your correct that's the main point of the PR.

Problem with your statement : PPR has a max range. You can use it close and at middle range. However, you won't be able to use the lazor on enemies on the other side of the map.

Let them have thier way, I'll be the target of many who feel the need to insult another to make themselves feel better if I have to.

O i still think the Particle rifle is complete crap for its ultra rare status and all. I would still take a lighter gun that I can use and not have to be out of cover so long to get the x4 damage multiplier because its not worth it most times for me. I just pointed out the x4 was on the sheet is all, because its a simple mistake to not notice is all.

Stating you have no idea what you're talking about when you're posting threads using wrong information to support your flawed argument is not "insulting" you, it's simply stating the truth. No one "insulted" you until you insulted yourself, and then tried to play the victim.

For the record, I agree that the gun needs a buff.

But if you're going to post a thread about it, and expect to be taken seriously you really should make a habit of having at least basic knowledge about the weapon. Anyone who has actually used the gun should be well aware that it is doing more damage when the beam is sustained.

You called yourself stupid before he even posted.

For all you know, he could simply be agreeing with you.

sure, so the swear was neccesary, with no regard to quote what I had said, even though it was obvious he didnt even need to say it even after another person had said there was no need to keep on making me feel bad, he was just simply agreeing with me.
