I see it this way, if it's fake, A dev will say so. If it's real they will make no comment at all or neither confirm nor deny it if they do.

considering, that if you slap a lens flare effect to a random set of pixel, you get a ME3 gun, it really isn't even a good trolling attempt.

Have to disagree with you on that. It is a good attempt, if that's what it is. It looks like it could belong in the mass effect universe along all the other weapons. So it's not just a lens flare on a "random set of pixels": It's a lens flare on a specifically well chosen set of pixels.

Have you actually seen the other weapons in ME3? Only 12 of them don't have any lens flares.

So - I quite often unlock something new, snap a pick of it w/ my phone - and txt it to one of my friends as a kind of 'nah nah na nah nah'... these pictures look very much like what happens when i do that - the 'overdone lense flare' thats the flash getting spread out through the satin finish of a samsung monitor screen. (I also have a sammy)

the 'glow effect' on the text people have commented on - that is typical bleed of bright text on a dark background.

I use photoshop professionaly - and I'm not convinced this is fake - but REALLY not convinced it's real. (purely on looking at the pics)

the fact that it cannot exist in game w/o supporting files tells me its a fake though. Unless it's a bioware employee being naughty.
