I recently reinstalled Mass Effect 2 on my computer to play the DLCs (Arrival, Overlord and Shadow Broker) before Mass Effect 3, but i'm having a serious sound bug where after a minute or two the sound just dies, and will only come back if I restart the game but then it'll again only last a minute.
System info:
Operating System: Windows 7 64 bit
Processor: AMD FX-8120 Eight-Core Processor 3.11 GHz
RAM: 8.00GB
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460
DirectX: DirectX 11
Montior: SyncMaster
Any help would be much appreciated. I have consulted a previous thread but the solutions there such as running the .exe in administrator mode/compatability mode doesn't help.
Oh and when I previously played Mass Effect 2, it was on an older computer and everything ran fine.
Mass Effect 2 sound cuts out after 2 minutes

What sound card are you using? Have you updated to the latest sound driver for your system?

I'm using an onboard soundcard; the drivers for that are up to date.

I found a solution.
Buying a dedicated soundcard. The ausus xonar dg to be precise. Now sound works perfectly. (I was having sound issues with other random games as well, but strangely not all games. Some games were completely unaffected whilst others were).
