Hi all,
As of today, my copy of Mass Effect 3 on Xbox360 is crashing my Xbox every time I try to play it.

It loads past the Bioware/EA logos and then does either one of two things...

1) It stays 3-4 seconds on the initial loading screen (Earth burning and the Sun in the distance) and then the screen goes black and the xbox freezes.

OR

2) It gets past the initial screen and onto the main menu (fire raining on Earth) where it crashes with the picture frozen in place.

Every other game in my catalog works perfectly including discs and games on the hard drive. I have no other EA games to test.

This freeze happens exactly the same whether I use disc 1 or disc 2.

I have uninstalled the game and I have also cleared the cache on the system. These actions have not resolved the problem. As far as I know there are no similar instances being reported. Again, this is only being caused by ME3 and no other game.

All responses welcome.

Regards,
Tony

Don't listen to the EA customer support they tell you to delete your stuff and you end up deleting hours of saves and downloads. Then once you load the game back up it will continue to crash/freeze

Sounds similar to the black screen issue which has gotten the most attention. I was affected by it in March. Did the home fix by user Resante to get out of it.

If its the same thing TC, then doing the fix should resolve it as well. Related to your Xbox GPD and files inside.

I don't think PS3 has this problem as gamer profiles are handled differently. GPD is proprietary to MS.

Ok I found it and read it. So basically Bioware/EA have been aware of the problem since April but have done nothing about the situation, forcing the community to actually develop a home fix instead? That's a disgrace tbh.

Has anyone gotten banned by microsoft for doing this?

Can a Bioware employee please respond?

As far as I know there have been no bans for using the fix.  It does not affect game files so EA has no footing for banning, and it only causes the files to be reloaded from the MS servers so there should not be a problem from them either.  you should be safe.

Been using the fix for a few days now, works fine for me and I have a massive amount of logs of EA being useless for fixing it.
