im stuck between there three classes i've heared is the most tactical reason why i want a tactical class is i don't want the game to seem easy or one sided i want every fight too seem different that i have to think about what my next move might be ill be playing on insanity as well just to make it more hard for me

Vanguard - it seems like a run and gun class but when you reach ME2 i sorta think it becomes tactical yes you can charge into battle but on a higher difficulty you have to think of a back up plan if that doesn't work which kinda draws me in

Infiltrator - using cloak sneaking behind your enemie and hitting them either with your pistol or machine pistol or hacking your enemies machines and turning them against them for a short time and of course snipping your enemie with your sniper

Engineer - seems more of a support role then tactical i friend told me this class is tactical but i just don't see it maybe cause i never found interest in being a Engineer but if someone can change my mind then please do

I dunno I think Vanguard Soldier and Infiltrator are the least tactical. Vanguard = charge --> shotgun blast, charge --> shotty. Soldier u just spam adreniline rush and shoot, and infiltrator you just cloak and snipe, cloak and snipe.

All classes can be tactical. It just depends on what you consider tactical I guess. Adept and Engineer may be the most tactical since they are required to use more options than just "use signature power and shoot". Note that all classes can use more options than just signature power + shoot, but as an Infiltrator, Vanguard, or Soldier, that is what you spend most of your time doing.

Loved all three classes.  Most tactical for me ends up a tie between my Shotgun Infiltrator and my Shotgun Engineer.

My Shotgun Infiltrator was this, and the reasons are all pretty much there.  Has something for every situation, endless crowd control options, and stealth attacks.

My Engineer was built like this, eventually just using the balanced layout for every mission.  This was the how, the inspiration for how I played her, though I coupled the Scimitar's high RoF and pellet synergy with Grunt's Squad Incendiary Ammo's crowd control effects instead.

Actually both builds play fairly similar.  The differences are in tactically using Combat Drone versus planned Cloaked strikes.  The Infiltrator pulls ahead in ease of use there and power with the addition of the Viper, the Engineer's fun is in the challenge.  Both have the most cost effective ranks in NS and Hacking.  Both freeze enemies, though one does it with Cryo Blast and the other with his weapons courtesy of Cryo Ammo.

I found them both the most fun when pairng with another tech ally, typically Garrus, Mordin, or the all powers/no passive Tali.

Lol'd, the class consist of cloak -> snipe to win. I guess there is a occasional Energy Drain and Incinerate thrown in but its a really easy class.

Engineer definitly is the class you want to play though. You have to think about your power usage, builds, and gear the most. Adept is pretty close too. Adept becomes super easy mode in ME3 though because of biotic combos.

Engineer, puppet master! You direct the battlefield with a drain here, a hack there, a carefully placed drone, and then comes the pain! :D

For ME2 Locust is the best, Tempest, Carnifex, and uhh that pistol with the laser sights are all good too.

It doesn't really matter, I chose sniper but never used it. I think Assault would be best though. I liked using SMGs and Pistol more for this class whenever I would shoot.

Yeah, Engineer is my fav class all time. In 2-3 it simply... a living god. Drones, hack, overload, fire and ice. It's got a solution for everxything. Use Carnifex and Locust for weapons.
My another fav class is the Sentinel. It's simply a one man army. If you squad mates dies, so be it. Use overload, warp, tech armor, slaughter a whole crowd.

This is an old old subject, but one of the most tactical builds in ME2 is the "Shotgun Engineer". With exception to the GPS, using a shotgun on an Engineer forces you to get in really close to do maximum damage, and with the class' low base HP, you are forced to play more tactically than with most other classes and builds.

... But if you dig up some of the older threads (like the Object Rho one) you'll see that whole community started getting really damn good at ME2 in around the final year before ME3 released, regardless of build/class.

*edit: Kudos to Simbacca for digging up some old threads. Brings back some old memories. Will probably go rummage through some golden oldies as well.

All classes can be played tactically, down to moving allies around the battlefield, doing an old-fashioned military stack up before moving through the door, tossing a flashbang in (thank you Kasumi :) ) before doing so. It's fun fun fun :)

I would enjoy playing a Sentinel if it had incinerate instead of warp... I wonder if one can tweak the game so sentinels DO have it. Hmm...
