Planet scanning is no way comparable to the awesomeness of exploring.

Absolutely yes. I love the Mako and planet exploration. I'm totally for it, i had lot of fun driving with that powerhouse.

Definitely agreed.
Imagine what planetary exploration and vehicles could have been if Bioware had decided to polish what they had given us in ME1 instead of just ripping it out completely.
Hell, I even liked the Hammerhead and how it handled - that could have been a fun vheicle for exploration too (they just needed to fix how little damage it was able to take).

Post of the week!
The planet exploration and thus the Mako, too, were reasons why Mass Effect become something very special to me. No game before had caused me to feel as if I was really on another planet, exploring it.
And I never got why people hated the controls. Don't people ever put effort into something? Yes, it's a game, but you still gotta do something! What if Mario Cart came out nowadays? People would probably also complain about that.
Flying planed at GTA SA on PC, THAT was hard. The Mako was a trip to the beach.
i don't know you ,but after reading your post ,i can honestly say , I love you

Yeah, one of the halmarks of a RPG is being able to jam 150 items like assault rifles, colossus armors and an entire store worth of weapon upgrades in a backpack. I agree.

It's one of the perks of being a cryptic cat. I'm better than the chesire cat. I just can't find an Alice of my own, I guess I would spend more time in bed then. ;-)Zuzu Mumu wrote...

Seriously though, playing a new canon-shep (Pandora Shepard), going with decisions I would make if I were Pandora with my take on things, kinda. I take quite a long time making decisions now.., who would have thunk?
At any rate, I did sleep... on my terms.

Also; YES. Love the Mako (and to a lesser extent the Hammerhead), love comparing stats on huge piles of weapons, mods and armor, love exploring random planets and finding stuff (regardless of utility), loved actually LANDING on planets to explore rather than teleporting fetch quest items from orbit, Love choices in dialogue (or at the very least the illusion of choices in dialogue), and love a game you can win. There were a lot of great game elements unnecessarily set aside for ME3, unfortunately.

Agreed!
On a serious note, a single player DLC that included an open terrian planet with some Mako driving would be amazing!

Have to agree with Cryptic (and all others with the same sentiment), the inventory system in ME1 was not a good thing. I found it really immersion breaking, carrying around 150 items composed of complete sets of armour, weapons, and mods for them too. It wasn't Baldur's Gate/Neverwinter Nights where you could get magical bags that defied the laws of physics.
The weapon and armour modding system was a good idea though, it just got out of hand. Infinite firing high damage weapons being a prime example.
I much preferred having my inventory stored aboard the Normandy in ME2, but certainly missed the weapon and armour modding system to an extent.
I did like the "custom" armour pieces, but missed outfitting squadmates beyond weapons used.
As for the Mako, I honestly loved it.
The only problem with it, was some planets where the only way to get to certain places of interest was ridiculous terrain (Eletania springs to mind). I did like the exploration overall, especially with different environmental conditions that could kill you.
