Already played as a DW rogue. It was about as fun as a serious conversation with Cailan would be.

Each to their own, each to their own. Personally mage is my favorite. Explosions are cool.

Depends on what role the warrior is going to have in your party.

If its your main tank (hint: make him DEX tank), get Champion for the hefty +10 DEF for rally, and superiority to get you another AoE stun (unlike shield warriors, you have problems being flanked, so more AoEs the better). Templar for your second spec if you want 100% spell resist through Knight Commander armor, or Reaver for Devour healing. Former also gets you an AoE stun, while latter gives you a CC ability and an AoE damage.

If its your offtank/main dpser, then Berserker for sure, since +8 dam is a lot when you're going 1.0s swing timers with dagger/dagger. I prefer Reaver for second spec since gives you even more DPS, though Templar still is not a bad choice for AoE stun/100% spell resist.

I'm going for DPS. Berserker + templar seems like it could be fun, never played as a Templar either. Reaver doesn't really fit with the character to be honest.

I enjoyed templar + champion so far. Templar being number 1 choice. Its easy to get and can be specialized earlier than champion. Most important templar skills also don't waste stamina, so that you can use your special dw-attacks more often. Champion needs higher levels and uses stamina. In my oppinion that skill-tree becomes far more usefull once you reached tier 4 because both skills get upgraded.

Templar on the other hand is useful from the start . Mages are number 1 targets anyhow. Also disspell can be important.

On the other hand champion is a great boost for the whole party, something I like to use later in the game, once both skills are upgraded.

Yes, I am playing Templar/Champion DW warrior too now and she rocks. Berserker seems bit meh and Reaver even worse imo.

Berserker is quite nice, as Berserk gives +8 damage on each hand.

Champion or Templar is about equally good I'd say, as both offers a knockdown.

Reaver, yeah, stay away.

if you're talking about just a knockdown between champion or templar, then what the competition is about for those two specs is what else they offer.

you either take the champion's party buff, or you take templar, which gives two additional (and major) advantages: 100% spell immunity and an area dispell.

Since Rally stacks, I'd go Champion if Alistair is around and make him a Champion too. Templar otherwise, but I'd take Berserker at lvl 7.
The 100% magic immunity is a wee bit overrated I think, as there's plenty of ways to keep mages from doing much, and it costs 110g just for the armor and necklace.

Beserker + Guardian was a lot of fun !

Reaver was a bit creepy and bloodmagicky for my taste and to make it even worse :

* the cannibal heal is useless because corpses don't usually spawn until the fight is over anyway
*the Aura of Pain hurts enemies as much as slapping them with a wet fish while also generating insane aggro

I actually like Frightening a lot. With your high STR, its practically unresistable.

The beauty of being a Reaver is that you get to dip into your health pool as a resource to further improve your DPS. With all the good 2h activated abilities plus Berserk's stamina drain, you will be at a loss many times to use your abilities since you cannot replenish stamina through potions. Aura of Pain/Frenzy lets you increase your DPS even further by using your health

And with Devour being instacast, you'd only fall in battle if you don't pay attention, as you will only be gravely injured when there's a boatload of corpses already (barring certain optional fights). Worst case scenario are potions, which even the normal tier isn't THAT expensive. Sure pots at that tier and higher ain't spammable, but at least you don't have to  rely on auto-attack alone once your stamina hits 0 when you take Reaver.

Of course, to those who like less thinking/microing, its best to stick to Templar. I feel for a DPS that is superior to champion, because...
1) their AoE stun is done at range. Which is important since 2H warriors don't put any points in DEX, so they don't have scattershot. It also does damage.
2) as a max STR warrior, you have more than enough ATK to hit and your DEF is pathetic that another +10 won't matter
3) Gives you the option to do 100% spell resistance
4) Probably the most important part, but Cleanse area is one of the most underrated abilities in the game. Taking out the CC that's affecting your tank or even worse your healer goes a long way

But as a primarily spellcaster player, I really like Reaver as second spec since then my 2H warrior plays more like the mage.  First spec is of course Berserker, since Berserk +8 damage is too good, which also improves your health regen to help combat Reaver abilities/Bloodthirst health drain.
