Who would you guys like to occupy the empty rooms on The Normandy via squadmate DLC?

I would disagree with more new character Squaddie DLC because of the fact that this is the final chapter in the series, so, considering the current established character's conditions, they need the attention more, sadly, as they aren't a shimmering brilliant as they were before, and its also VERY difficult to add new characters to the final chapter.
Compair Javik and Kai Leng. Javik is introduced as the last living Prothean and the voice of the Prothean race. Naturally, with most of the series' plot built upon Prothean Plans and Plots, Javik is naturally important to the game, even if he doesn't actually do anything in the plot.
Now, Look at Kai Leng. He is given no introduction to his character, his character serves no purpose, his plot armor is rediculious, and, lastly, he has no importance or influence over the plot. Kai Leng is the textbook definition of how to not write and introduce a character, espicially in the final chapter.
Considering how sidlined the Batarians are in ME3, espicially odd after Arrival made a huge point of dragging them into this mess, I can't see a Batarian being important to the game or at least Squadmate Important.
And, as I've said, the established characters need the polish job a bit more so than there is a need of a new character.

So, really, this is all hypothetical and wishful thinking. If someone wants a batarian, and they did give their reasons, then I don't see a problem with that.

@LanceSolous -- That's all fair! I'm not going to try and sway you - I was trying to express where I was coming from, never to convince anyone else that I'm right. There's one bit I do disagree with, though...LanceSolous13 wrote...
The Normandy has three nerds. They're names are Garrus Vakarian, Tali'Zorah narr Ryya vas Normandy, and Kaidan Alenko.

Surely that's more reason to make them Squadmate Important, though?
It's a huge galaxy, and there are still massive swathes we know nothing about! We've never really met a friendly batarian. Nobody who's been able to shed much light on what's going on within the Hegemony. They're all outlaws, villains, people who left the Hegemony for all the wrong reasons.
A batarian hero, though? That's a huge story waiting to happen. The best thing a squadmate can do is show us the universe from a different point of view. Grunt introduced us to krogan culture. Mordin showed us the other side of the genophage - the reasons it could be justified. Tali was our window into the Migrant Fleet; Miranda and Jack are two different sides of Cerberus, neither of whom is strictly wrong and neither of whom is strictly right. And every squadmate, in some way, exposes our prejudices and shows us a new perspective we'd never even considered. The friendly geth, the imperialist prothean, the skeletons in the asari closet.
My favourite thing about the Mass Effect universe is how it lives, and breathes. Batarians, though, are still caricature. Our vision's still blinkered. Those extra dimensions are out there - we know good batarians exist - but we've not seen it. Surely the next DLC - Leviathan, as it's rumoured - is the perfect opportunity to meet them? If it's got anything to do with the Leviathan from the first game, it's going to be pretty batarian anyway. How cool would it be to keep one?!
Arrg! That's a shame, what a pity. Cheers for bringing it up, though.hot_heart wrote...
Well, I think BioWare said they can't bring in new squadmates for technical reasons. Something about dialogue during missions and bits on the Normandy or whatever.

We already have some great new characters. Javik is a brilliant tie in to one of the main subplots. James is a fun addition and it's kind of nice having a character for Shepard to mentor. Cortez and Traynor add some new dimensions aside from their sexuality. Allers adds... a war asset. If we have to add another new character, I would definitely like a Batarian. I think there is a lot of potential there for interesting storytelling. Otherwise, I would much rather have old friends back.

I'm not sure about the specifics, but it did sound like a flimsy excuse. There's always the possibility of LotSB-style missions maybe. I'd like to see a batarian actually. Those guys rock in multiplayer.

Considering they also said that having a flashback to an LI outside of Ash, Kaidan, and Liara was impossible too...

Sadly, Bioware keeps making crappy multiplayer packs. Stick to singleplayer ffs.

It's very uncreative and stupid.
- Miranda would be in the war room working at one of the terminals or looking at the map.
- Jacob would be in the shuttle bay working on some guns at the table on the right when you enter the hangar
- Kasumi would be sitting in the lounge enjoying some rest
- Thane would be in his ME2 room
I think we can at least expect one more squadmate seeing as Thane's room isn't used for anything else and still is available. But I really hope they do something with the room that is now filled with boxes.

I really, really want Miranda, Kasumi, Jacob and Thane back! I hate what they've done with Jacob's old armory. Out of all the things they could have put in there... they decided the old armory could be best used to store BOXES.

Actually the armory got turned into the war room. The boxes are just in the doorway not where the armory use to be.
