Oh, come on... it's OBVIOUS that ALL funding from a publisher just comes in one HUGE LUMP SUM that the developer then decides how to budget as they see fit!  I mean, geez... do you honestly think a publisher would earmark money for a certain purpose, or perform certain tasks outside of a developer's budget?

Yeah it wouldve been done by EA, but still i see no reason for why it would be impossible to take money used wasted to market this game, and put into the actual game itself instead.

She isn't in the game because she was written out of it to focus on others.


I really don't understand their mindset with this, why would they establish her as such an important character in ME2, then pull this.

Good question.  Perhaps it does "flow" better, but I can get that in most games.  Heck, I can get that by watching TV or reading a book.  The fun part of RPGs is supposed to be the player's participation.  Personally, I didn't feel like having more dialogue prompts reduced the flow.  It's not like I was just sitting there pondering.  I quickly chose what I wanted at the time and rolled with it.  Honestly, if they wanted to create "better flow" they should have saved it for the next series.  Changing something this big in the last part of a series is a poor decision.  It's especially poor because even if they learn from it, it is too late for ME.

That's something a lot of people have wondered. Why the heck make game two all about the pri... Team and then along comes game three and hey, those peeps, SO not important.

To the TC, has anybody else had anything to say about autodialogue? Any suggestions that future content will have less of it?

Part of what I love about ME1, and in particular ME2, is the constant dialogue options. I don't quite understand the statement about flow, I rarely felt that issue. Even if it elicited a single different line from an npc. Actually, one of my favourite uses of dialogue was in Mordin's loyalty mission on Tuchanka, where you keep or destroy the genophage data: there were four options, each one with a different flavour.

Auto-dialogue between Shepard and squaddies on missions, I like that. I take certain squadmates along becuase I like them, and therefore love hearing the interaction between them and Shepard.

I often choose neutral dialogue too. Particularly in Liara's capsule scene.

So why, after 2 games, are they suddenly worried about flow?

And even if you sit for a second to look at and analyze the dialogue choices, it isn't like (in-universe) Shepard is standing there picking his nose after X NPC finished speaking.
