So, patrick weekes can go to hell is what I'm getting from this thread and people talking about how there will not be cut downs of auto-dalouge even though he specifically states there will be.

I miss when people liked him.

This post was a stupid idea and I apologize.

Personally, I think with this being the last game in the trilogy, BioWare was trying to streamline the story into a more linear fashion.

Which is the opposite of their claim that they would be able to have more divergence because it was the last game, is it not?

I never disliked the auto dialogue. Most of it was very well-written and perfectly voice acted.

... Which isn't the reason people dislike it.

ME1 Renegade Shepard: "Benezia deserved to die for working with Saren. Liara, you need to grow up"

Auto-Shep: "Aww, Liara, you still reminiscing about Benezia? I'm so sorry, she sounded like such an amazing woman." *hug*

I see no point in being a complete douchbag to my crew. :(

Neither do I, but you should have the option to play as such.

All in the eyes of the beholder.
For me, it was just fine. For others, not so much apparently.

I can understand not wanting to do it. What I don't understand is making everyone subject to it--story mode or action mode.

Well, we see how that turned out for them.

Fanbase in shambles, massive loss of respect, etc...

Eh. I still like BioWare and was very pleased with ME3 after the EC.
Different strokes for different folks and whatnot.

He certainly is. Nobody is saying that stuff at all.

Or on Mars when you have the two options to respond to VS when they're going on about you and Cerberus...

Paragon: "I dont have to explain myself to you Kaidan..."
Kaidan shakes head then after elevator ride Shepard says something consoling..

Renegade: "I don't have to explain myself to you Kaidan"
Kaidan shakes head and after elevator ride Shepard says something unconsoling..

Even when you do have choices, it's just an illusion.

Press claims mean nothing to me.

It does make sense however, that BioWare would want to make ME3 more linear as a mechanism to close off Shepard's story arc.

Things change in development anyway.
*hint* the leaked scripts *hint*

Autodialouge is the dumbest thing BW have ever introduced in a game! I can't see any other reason to it but to save the effort to make a quality product. So weird that they introduced it in the final chapter of this wonderful trilogy!

When Shepard says something without the player choosing the line.

Alright, so to you guys there will either be no changes to the auto-dialogue or just minor changes?

Am I getting close to what you guys sentiments are? I'm actually trying to gauge why so much hostility for what I think is good news is abound here.

definitely, No one ever said they dislike Weekes, i know i didn't. Just another case of fans being unhappy with the changed direction of ME3.

YOU don't. I don't want that either. But others may want to RP their character this way. This is the point of giving choices. If they gave the players a choice to be a d*ck in ME1/ME2, they shouldn't have taken it away in the last installement just because they wanted Shep to be more emotional and kind. This is transforming the character from an RPG PC into a pre-defined action-adventure hero...

It seems like they're at least reducing the amount of auto-dialogue. Which is a step in the right direction.

I was just stating my usual playstyle.  No need to get touchy.
There were still plenty of opportunities to be a d*ck in ME3, most of them hilarious to boot.

Yeah, that's what I though, but didn't want to assume, & look like an idiot if I was wrong. So I like it, it worked in ME3 during some of the smaller conversations, but I'd have rather had full conversations, wih more choice. I hope they don't take too much player choice away from us.
