Personally, I think with this being the last game in the trilogy, BioWare was trying to streamline the story into a more linear fashion.

Which is the opposite of their claim that they would be able to have more divergence because it was the last game, is it not?

Press claims mean nothing to me.

It does make sense however, that BioWare would want to make ME3 more linear as a mechanism to close off Shepard's story arc.

Things change in development anyway.
*hint* the leaked scripts *hint*

The hell does that have to do with anything?

Just backing up my point that things can change in development cycles.

Eh. I still like BioWare and was very pleased with ME3 after the EC.
Different strokes for different folks and whatnot.

Agreed, and you're certainly entitled to that opinion.

Nice to agree to disagree for a change of pace here. :D

I'm not always of hellfire and brimstone douchebaggery. ;)

We didn't start off on the right foot, did we?

No, what does ME3 being the final game in the main trilogy have to do with anything?

So, patrick weekes can go to hell is what I'm getting from this thread and people talking about how there will not be cut downs of auto-dalouge even though he specifically states there will be.

I miss when people liked him.

Never said anything against Weekes. He is just in the bad position of working for those who clearly kicked their fans in the guts.

Excuse me if I stopped caring about their statements because most of them have been proven to be bland lies...

This.
If they're so worried about pacing, they could introduce timed conversations.

Okay, I'm just going to ask this of people right here and now, no more gauging or hyperbole or backsass or anything like that.

Why is this bad news? Whis is a bioware developer saying they went overboard with the auto-dialouge and them trying to scale it back a bad thing?

I really just want to know why so I can maybe emphasize with your view on this or at least get a better understanding on the rage surrounding this post.

It's not, in my opinion. ;)

Before this tweet:We love Patrick Weeks, he should have been lead, he is the writer we deserve!
After this tweet: OMG I HATE PATRICK, HE SHOULD GO TO HELL GAAH.

This is why Bioware does not communicate with their fans anymore. Though I find the hostile action on Patrick very ironic.

Where has anyone said that?

Some people are just venting about auto-dialogue in general. Others are mad because they don't want any auto-dialogue period. They don't want to compromise. "Cutting down" won't do the trick for them.

After autodialog, can we have autofighting. You know the moment you get to kill yet another husk? can i just watch him getting shoot, or skip the sequence alltogether by pressing space?
This constant aiming and fighting disturbs the flow of the game.

Lol, let's implement killchains from Assassin's Creed. Because combat felt too contrived when Ezio had to individually take his time to killl each enemy. Hell, it still does with Ubisoft's brain-dead AI.

Do....Not....Give....Them....Ideas!
They might go for Assasin creed crowd for the next game. Semi droid-assasin Vega vs space templar robot ninjas.

I don't think anyone has said specifically that. Unless of course there are <overlydramatic> tags that are getting filtered on my end somehow. No need to oversimplify things; I believe there has been plenty of legitimate criticism levied about this aspect without it getting nasty or overly-confrontational.

I am personally just bothered by the non-cinematic aspect of the autodialogue (along with lack of choice.) It kills immersion and emotion to just stand there in the middle of gameplay, Shepard scratching their bothersome shoulder till the convo ends.

Can you point to were, exactly, in this thread or any other has anyone been hostile to Patrick Weekes? As someone already said, people are mad at the message, not the messenger.

That's not the wibe I'm getting at all, nor would this be the first time Bioware fans have turned against a dev they used to like.

So you can't point to a specific instance, rather, it's just a "vibe" you're getting that totally isn't interpreted in a biased fashion.

It's called the internet, anything written can be interpeted unless the orignal intent is explained.
