I did a quick search and didn't find any other message speaking of this, so... Apparently the private message counter can get stuck at times. For instance, mine remains at "You have 2 unread conversation(s) in your inbox." even after I pretty much emptied the whole inbox and re-read what's remaining in there.
However I can't remember what I did to get this, afraid I'm not helping much.
Not important or anything, just, well. You know.
