I wasn't responding to whatever bull**** claims you made, just to empirical evidence. You have no level IV ammo. What you claim is irrelevant.


No offense but if he has almost no ammo mods, period, doesn't that mean he probably uses them pratically every game?

I basically have just started putting my ammo mods on in Platnium games, so I have an unholy horde of them. But if he isn't replacing them via that consumable Pack thingy, then he could use them waaaaaaaaaay faster than they get replaced.

But yeah I'd really prefer if Gear was given priority over ammo mods. I don't use ammo mods unless I have to, I get no enjoyment out of using Rail Amps/etc, so these are literally worse than character cards for me. I used the exp...

Exatly why I only play like 2 hours every other week... I got so tired so wasting like 400-500k every couple hours and getting nothing but level IV crap I hardly use. The RNG store is what makes the MP free but at the same time its what predominantly kills it as well.

You sure? On your manifest, you have all the pre-Earth rare gear at V, but you have only one Earth gear at all, and it's at III.

I'd like it if the new rare Gear dropped in the rare slot of SPs/PSPs with some consistency, just like the Rebellion gear did for the past few weeks. I opened 25 Rebellion Gears and /3/ Earth Gears with 5 million credits when Earth dropped.

That's rather improbable if they drop the same way.

I know they other ways to push stuff out in packs—the new Rare mods dropped nearly every pack until I had them maxxed out.

I'm willing to bet that  rare Rebellion Gear /is/ given priority, but Earth Gear isn't.

The store's always been kind of a mixed bag for me, though: on one hand, yeah, it sucks that you don't get what you want when you want it, but in the mean time it lets you try out something that you might've found cool, but would've never gotten of your own free will.

Of course... nobody wants Level IV ammo instead of a nice Piranha...

I didnt have maxed Rebellion Rare Gear until AFTER Earth DLC... I unlocked TONS of rare gear after Earth DLC... the "Combatives Gear"  levels 2 & 3, I unlocked yesterday and the day before, both coming AFTER(was disappointed because it sucks) I had already maxed out all Rebellion rare gear (just mentioning this because its clearly not "impossible" to unlock... especially since I've only bought maybe 7 PSP's in the last 72 hours).

Your reading comprehension is abysmal, I do have a maxed character, I have gotten them, and I stated I use them immediately because I don't want garbage clogging it up, that I've gotten them at all with only ONE is infuriating, I can't imagine how the people with many maxed golds feel.

Having a useless function and disappearing into the void are functionally identical, quit cryin' about it, and not calling people liars might work in your favor.

I'd almost say that was true, especially of late... I bought COUNTLESS PSP's after Rebellion and was getting UR's about as often as Rare Gear (1/10)... suddenly Earth DLC comes out and I max out my Rebellion Rare Gear within several days (Rebellion Rare Gear dropped almost every other PSP... easily the highest drop rate I'd ever seen for me).

I cant attest yet to the Earth Rare Gear yet, because as I said in my last post I've gotten the Combatives Rare Gear twice after maxing out all rare Rebellion Gear... so I dont think its "impossible" or at least not "glitched" for me... but we'll see how things go from here on out.

Have you maxed out your rare weapons and characters yet?  I haven't gotten any rare gear except for the very first day of the DLC (that's when I got the only ranks I have of the new stuff as I saved up 2 million credits for the DLC) and zero of any rare gear, uncommon gear (but that's greyed out so you're not supposed to get it), and zero ultra rares.  I don't complain about the URs as they're supposed to be very random but there is no reason for me to get zero rare gear in 1.5 million credits spent over the past two weeks when I have a dozen slots of them empty.  Playing the game is fun but loot farming/collecting is also an integral part of the reward system.  I'm literally not playing the game anymore because of this as I feel like I'm literally wasting the credits that I earn.  I've also refused to spend the usual $5-10 I do with every DLC as I'm not going to waste my real money on level IV consumables.

That seems to be a consistent theme; that people unlocking more gear didn't have the Rebellion gear maxed yet. Since we actually know that Specter Packs didn't drop uncommon Earth gear until a few days ago, I think the drop pattern for Earth/pre-Earth gear is substantially different. I also think it probably is actually a glitch, since they 'fixed' it for uncommons and I've already gotten 3 of those in the past couple days from a handful of SPs.

I PMed Derek Hollan about it. Maybe he's the wrong guy, but his profile says he's QA/testing, so I assume that if any department has the ability to look at the aggregate (or even a large random sampling) of the MP population to examine the frequency of certain items being unlocked, it'd be his. Not holding my breath on actually getting an answer, but it's worth a shot, right?

I'm just tired of buying PSP's and my gold's are both level IV ammo type's, like sure give me one but at least let me get another. Cuz i have bought packs before with MS points but I dont want to now because I dont want to waste my money on stupid ammo, maybe if they made it so if you pay then you get gear/weapons/character cards then fine I'll pay but to get nothing but ammo types I find that a waste of money and got tired of it so that is why I decided to express myself on the forum and find out how other's feel about it.

In my experience, you get level IV ammo whenever you are supposed to get a Rare weapon/character/mod/gear, but you have already maxed out all of the items in question. The drop rates for each item are unchanged, but if you've maxed out most of your items, then you can expect to see a long parade of level IV equipment because it looks like you're getting ammo most of the time.

I'm convinced this is how it works, because prior to the Earth DLC, I was getting level IV ammo with about a 66% ratio, when I'd maxed out all of my Rare weapons and characters. The other 33% was Rare Gear. (For the curious, this was out of 20 PSP's. 24 Level IV ammo, 17 Rare Gears, and 1 Ultra-Rare.)

Then, after Earth was released, I didn't get a single level IV ammo out of 15 PSP's... UNTIL I'd maxed out the Piranha and the Acolyte, then level IV ammo started dropping again.

All rares have been maxed for the past 4 months and each DLC I've maxed the rare weapons on day 1 of release (usually 1.5-2 million credits saved seems to max out weapons and get most characters) - I maxed out the character appearance options for Earth DLC several days ago as well, which is why I mentioned getting the "Combatives Rare Gear" yesterday and the day before... Unless of course you're saying I have to have maxed Rebellion UNCOMMON gear which I dont have (those are almost more rare for me than rare gear).

Another thing, you said the level 4 consumables are garbage and tedious to get rid of, and you use them as soon as you get them. So why is it that you don't bother to get rid of your level 1s 2s and 3s?

I'm not going to bother reading every single post you write here, because you're not overly important, but the "HERP DERP CHARACTER CARDS WUZ BETTER DAN LEVEL IV AMMO" claim was worth addressing, since it seems to be something some people are actually foolish enough to believe.

I don't have to imagine. I have all of my rares (except Earth gear, I think those are broken) maxed. If my SP/PSP actually has something new, I rejoice. You've BARELY EVER dealt with the problem, and you probably never dealt with the character cards for classes you'd maxed at all. You're not the person to be talking about this.

All you did was ignored the crux of it; that you barely know what you're talking about with level IV ammo and that you probably don't, in ANY sense, know what you're talking about with regards to unlocking stuff that doesn't actually yield anything.

Simple fact: Level IV ammo adds to your in-game effectiveness. Conversely, absolutely nothing (the benefit you get from character cards for classes with maxed appearance options) adds absolutely nothing to your in-game effectiveness.

No, having even a minimally useful function is better than having absolutely no function. Level IV mods have a genuine function. Throw a Cyclonic Modulator IV on something and you'll probably feel a tiny bit invincible for a match. Conversely, seeing the drell vanguard show up as a rare item when I can already make his lights blue and his skin purple yields neither a practical nor an imaginary benefit. It gives absolutely nothing at all. You only can't see the difference because you have either no experience or almost no experience with what you're talking about. 

As for not calling people liars... why? You're the only one I'm calling a liar, and I'm only calling you a liar because you're making claims that go against observational evidence. It's like if a guy wearing a pink shirt claimed he only wore blue. Not EXACTLY like that, because you might have actually gotten a level IV mod once or twice and just used it as you claim, but it's nearly impossible that it's a problem you actually have substantial experience with.

Ya I have bought a ton of PSP since earth came out, and once I maxed out my Piranha and Acolyte I started getting Ammo drops, and then once I maxed out my characters almost exclusively ammo drops, I'm just tired of them. i still have gear to max out, and would like to get some more ultra-rares I dont expect to max them out instantly but give me a better chance at them instead of these stupid Level IV ammo's

They're both horrible, one just takes time out of my play to select, so I think it's marginally worse.

Even a simpleton can identify a problem without experiencing it to the extent someone else does, I've experienced it, and I've experienced the other garbage drops, I think months of anger and frustration from the community is a better meter to judge than you.

Something that yields me almost nothing does not increase my effectiveness meaningfully, it's hard enough using the garbage consumables as is.

I disagree, especially when it deducts from useful unlocks, I'd much rather have an unlock than another expendable consumable. Yes, I'm a liar, thanks, keep it classy.

This is my opinion but it doesn't jive with the majority opinion on here...

I'm a promoter...Give me the XP from Character cards. I'll use Lvl IV consumables on Gold or Plat but I don't need them...What ever coding that has taken place has screwed many of us out of Uncommon and rare gear. I could theorize how the probability tree is laid out and where the error might be, but without one of the developers actually acknowledging that they are looking at it it doesn't do anyone any good to keep commenting again and again in increasingly belligerent threads.
