Haven't touched ME3 since Extended Cut. Anyone else?

However I have trouble whenever I try to play through singleplayer for any length of time. The original ending, for whatever reason, has sapped my enthusiasm and motivation. I still play multiplayer, and the gameplay itself is fun as hell. I just don't have the passion I used to have.
I thank bioware for the effort. Both the effort to bring the game to us, and the effort to fix flaws in the product. But I just don't have the passion I used to know.
Maybe after a year or two when the game gets some DLC, and maybe when the multiplayer gets a nice expansion enemy wise.... but until then I don't know if I will be able to finish the game again.

Not playing the game is only punishing yourself, not Bioware.
That said, ME3 isn't half as bad as DiabloIII was. Now that was a game worthy of dying in a fire, it actually led me to cut off all ties I have with Blizzard. And to think that Jennifer Hale was voicing Leah... Hard to believe she's the de facto Femshep!
Just saying, dude. ME3 is a marvel of coding and creativity when you see it in a line of other great franchises gone south:
- Mass Effect 3
- Diablo III
- Saints Row 3
- Fallout New Vegas
Yeah, give me ME3... All the other franchises just make me feel dirty for having tried them.
Agree. People may give Bioware flak, but Blizzard is probably the worst offender I've seen in terms of doing what it thinks is best instead of what the fanbase wants. I think that SC2 is probably one of the few products that they'd made for the fans.
The original ending, for whatever reason, has sapped my enthusiasm and motivation.
Yeah, that's what happened to me. I did a playthrough of ME3 when the game first came out... and I'm doing a ME1 through ME3 playthrough now, only because I've gotten bored of other games and want to see if the Extended Cut is worthwhile. I've played TONS of MP but I agree that the ending kind of kills the drive to play because originally all your choices didn't matter. The journey is important, but if you have no prize at the end...

But ME3? -- Crap plot, incredibly boring campaign that renders ME1&2 meaningless, maximum auto-dialogue from beginning to end, zero choice, little carry-over from ME1&2, only 3 enemy factions, amateur designed boss fights........and the Reapers are little more than a little boys toy. Literally!
Havent bothered booting ME3 up since the EC DLC.

That said, the endings really hurt my enthusiasm for the franchise. I'll give the EC a chance. From what I've read about the EC endings, they make things a little better. But the choices themselves are still utter crap, and I'm not sure the ending will feel any more like Mass Effect. So, after I get to play the EC endings for myself, I might just go back to doing what I did before, and stop playing before I make it to Star Brat.
ME3 is rather complicated for me to talk about. I think it's a really good game compared to what's out there with other franchises, and ultimately it's fun to play. There are a lot of great moments and missions. But, as a Mass Effect game, it has serious flaws - things like autodialouge, scan and grab quests that should have been real missions, and an ending that breaks the franchise for me. And for every great mission or plot resolution, it seems like there's a story that's unresolved (Corporal Toombs, Giana Parasini, the whole "dying stars" thing) or resolved in a very unsatisfying or slipshod way (Miranda's father, killing off characters via in game e-mail or, worse, twitter, etc..).
I still love Mass Effect, but I think after my current playthough, maybe it would be a good idea to set it aside for a bit and try playing some other things. I'll come back, and maybe do a fresh playthrough once new DLC has been released.

i started playing from ME1-ME3 again so im playing it again at the moment. Its replayable for me for sure, but once you've completed a game theres only so much re-playing you can do..
I will admit that is also part of the no replay value factor for me, but when the game ended as it did it made it even less replayable.

Mass Effect is in a weird place for me. I have trouble working up the enthusiasm to play single player. The campaign itself is fun enough, especially the base gameplay. ME3 is full of great moments that are worth playing just for them... and Multiplayer is a blast.

Thanks for the input Nashiktal, I feel exactly the same way. I currently have a character file that has a save point at almost every single mission that I could go back to and replay if I wanted. Only I haven't. There are so many great moments but working on playing up to them has just lost the enthusiasm and motivation it once held. The passion I used to have is gone as well. Maybe, as I said in a prior post, it also has something to do with that the game series has finally come to a close. What more is there to look forward to? And the ending didn't exaclty leave me with a feeling of accomplishment which makes it hard to replay at all. After all, we know what we are to receive for our efforts and it sucks anyway you choose. My feelings on Mass Effect are pretty much in limbo right now, teetering on falling off the edge of cliff. It was a sweet ride of epic proportions for a while...then suddenly took a wrong turn to epic fail.

I am struggling to complete it a second time to actually get to the extended cut the game brings up so much negative emotion
I ground through an insanity run and then stopped playing for good. The game was just a terrible experience and a chore to get through the second time.

As Yahtzee said "Could've been worse"
Actually I'm enjoying it quite well, I was surprised how different the genophage conflict turned out.

I'm still playing single player to see the EC endings. I only play a few hours on the weekend, and there were two weeks or so where I couldn't play, so it takes some time to do a playthrough.

Really liking these comments guys. Thanks for the input. Seems like most of us are on the same page here with mixed feelings about the game and series as a whole. Sure we were shocked and angry at what we wittnessed when ME3 was first released and we went on rant of rampage spewing venom against Bioware. Now that the dust we kicked up has settled, we can collect our thoughts a bit better. ME3 is complicated to talk about. Great examples above DWH1982. I still love Mass Effect for what it is and the effect (no pun intended:)) it's had on me. I have set it aside for a while as well and may go back to it at some point down the road depending on what SP DLC is released.

Good for you!! For me the extended cut improved the endings and gave more clarity as to what happened and what was intended, but still didn't fix what was essentially broken about them. Just my thoughts, not gonna judge your decision and perspective. Enjoy the game bydoritos!!

Nope, haven't touched the game since the EC. Same happened with the original ending. Couldn't pick it up after the first run. I replayed through the ending of the game for the EC. I hated it, I hated the game. It now collects dust. That is how bad the game is. That is how bad the EC is. That is how crappy their "Artistic Integrity" is and their "Artistic Vision" is. BioWare is a crap company now that makes even crappier games.
I don't know, they made good games in the past, but I agree. Same here.
This is horse crap
EDIT: Oops, didn't see the "now"... yeah, I agree.
