Did the EC, not impressed - and Dawnguard came out so it's back to Skyrim.

Same here. Haven't touched the ME franchise since EC. Not interested in the grind-grind-grind multiplayer at all. I wish I could play ME1 but the CD key won't register with Origin like ME2 and Dragon Age did.

I've been playing multiplayer. Single player isn't really worth playing through without new content since the story ends. I have at least 3 Mass Effect 1 to 2 playthroughs ready for more story content in 3.

I still haven't played it but once in the last two and a half months. Basically since I found out Femshep was walking around dead. I just checked cause I'd forgotten if I'd downloaded the EC, and I haven't.

That one time, I realized I couldn't do anything else because everywhere I went I just got chased down and killed by reapers and I'm sick of that, so forget it. Besides, Dawnguard is about to come out for PC and we're getting closer to Bioware Infinite launch. I can do without ME3.

ME1 completed: 8 times

ME2 completed: 21 times

ME3 completed: 2 times

Haven't been able to play any of the series. EC came out, played through ME3's ending 4 times to see all the endings, haven't touched any ME game since. I liked the EC I find it really helped ME3. But the ending wasn't my only beef with ME3 and IMO the Starchild still completely destroys the whole series for me.

While replaying ME1's ending all I think about is the Starchild and the fact that my Shepard will be standing there in 2 games and then all epicness of the ending and the whole game is ruined.

ME3 ruined ME for me. and I was a huge fan. I still frequent these forums every once and a while just to check around and see what's going on but I just can't play the games anymore.

Yeah, I definitely played ME2 more than ME1 and only ME3 twice through.  I didn't even play through all the EC's endings.  Twice was enough for me.  Took too long to go through the process.  Just watched them on youtube.  Starchild and his Reaper play toys totally ruined it for me.  I check the forums as well to see what's going on with the series, don't really care too much about playing anything new though.  Seems like I made a good topic discussion here.  Loving the feed back from everyone.  I'm not the only one who just can't pick the game up anymore.  Again, not because I want to spite Bioware, but the passion is just gone.  Everything we thought we knew about the Reapers was a lie.  I love a good game twist, but this was just a ruination.

I too stll love the universe, the characters, and the story up through pretty much ME2.  I'll cherish all that forever.  It's most of ME3 and the endings that did it in for me and most everyone on here.  I too have moved on in the months that have passed and finally feel free of the game as I haven't touched it since EC.  Still like to share my thoughts here though.  Bioware is definitely now on my "Do not fully trust" list.  I can't in good conscience pick up a game with Bioware/EA on it anymore and expect the best.

Completed it one time before the EC and two times after. Currently busy with my fourth playthrough, but I don't know if I will complete it soon. After two months of Mass Effect I feel myself getting a bit tired of it. Which has nothing to do with the quality of the game or the endings (which are superb and adequate, respectively), it's just that I simply can't play a game longer than a few months without taking a break of at least a few weeks.

I for one still play the single player and I'm currently giving other classes a try. I'm also starting from mass effect 1 then 2 and 3. It makes it very long but fun from start to finish. I for one love the new extended cut ending and think Bioware did a great job. I thought the original endings were fine but could have used more choices and explanations and that's what the rxtended cut DLC gave us and I couldn't ask for a better job. What is so bad and hard to understand in the extended cut ending I thought it did a good job explaining what and why so why all the hate? Don't know why people hate the original endings I knew it wouldn't be perfect since every time there's a final game or movie in a series I've noticed there's always an ending that leaves you asking questions or wanting more. They do that so if they decide to continue the series in the future they have something to continue from. The scene of shepard not dead and breathing in some rumble and then it ends proves my case. Now if they wanna bring back Shepard in another mass effect in the future they can and I'm happy with that I just hope it happens. Now about bioware working on multiplayer too much and not enough on the campaign I agree 100 percent with you on that and I really hope that changes. I mean why not bring all those new multiplayer weapons to single player also. Mass effect 2 had a lot of the DLC compared to part 1. I assumed mass effect 3 would have even more but by the looks of things multiplayer is getting all the DLC and not the single player campaign. I hope your wrong and I hope bioware didn't forget about what really matters is the campaign isn't this a action rpg. I like the multiplayer part of the game but I bought mass effect 3 for the story and campaign not some coop multiplayer that is just a bonus for when I wanna play with friends and not alone.

Figured out how to do another play through. Put it on full auto-dialogue and skip all the cutscenes and dialogue. It's actually a pretty fun game if you just treat it like the shooter it was designed to be.

Immersion in a character driven story backed up by a rich and layered universe is for suckers anyway.

Only game worth playing really is ME1.

I find it stunning how people can even deign to call ME3 a good game, much less epic, stellar, or whatever have you, and thank Bioware for it. Memories must be short regarding pre-launch promises straight from the mouth of Casey Hudson himself not being fulfilled, or standards of excellence must have dropped among the fanbase in order to justify the money spent on this Gears of Mass Effect with the half-baked end-game.

I'm totally not bitter about the the money I spent on this game and, after some reflection, the ME1 and ME2 games that will forever be tarnished by the fact the third game was such a train wreck.

Totally. Not. Bitter.

At all.

Actually, I haven't touched ME for a couple of weeks now. I've started a new DA:O & Dragon's Dogma, so between those and watching the Olympics, I can't see me playing ME again in the near future.

Which might actually be a good thing, since I can go back to it relatively fresh and disappointment free.

I haven't touched SP, but that's due to the fact that I've been busy elsewhere.

Just saying, dude. ME3 is a marvel of coding and creativity when you see it in a line of other great franchises gone south:

- Mass Effect 3
- Diablo III
- Saints Row 3
- Fallout New Vegas

Interesting mention. In fact I think, FNV is way closer to Fallout 1 and 2 compared to Fallout 3

Yeah, I have been getting that a lot in discussions like this one, allover the internet, really. Even with all the DLC though, FONV isn't such a great game storywise. I mean, take Boone to the compound and start murdering legionaires including Ceasar and then you're told you haven't accomplished anything? Really? And that's even if you're lucky enough to open doors without the game locking up on you. Yeah, great game. But I love how "Your every action shapes the world" in FONV. Removing the threat from New Vegas just kinda doesn't change things. Riiiiiight. Unless you count booking the lonesome drifter to the Tops as shaping the world, in that case, knock yourself out.

And F3 is a good game storywise? Bethesda just put in random plots that didn't make sense to make F3's story. And every F:NV DLC is better than the ones from F3 that made no sense at all or were plain boring.

Anyway, i still play the MP sometimes but i have yet to do a second playthrough of ME3. The overall story is boring compared to the other 2 even with the EC.

the game brings up so much negative emotion

I'm pretty much in the same boat.

I played and beat ME3 when it first came out was so disgusted by the game that I stopped playing it. Then the EC came out and rather than reboot an earlier save and watch the EC endings I decided to forgive ME3 for its transgressions, give it another go and begin a new game, I gave up on that almost 2 weeks ago, I just lost the will to play it after Sur'kesh.

agreed

You know, that's what I don't really understand... I don't see ME3 as a game with a lame ending; I see ME3 as one big end-game. People keep saying that there is no closure, WTH, there's nothing but. In my game, Sheppie ties up all loose ends and to my utter joy she and Liara finally stop beating around the bush behaving like passing ships in the night and decide to go for it.

People say that they don't understand how TIM end up in the Citadel... really? It is even explained that he goes to the Citadel in the hopes of getting to the crucible trigger first so he can control the reapers!! "TIM comes out of nowhere and blah blah"- no he doesn't. TIM has all the data he needs, his experiments are done and he believes he holds the key to saving the Human-race. Even that's explained in the game, you don't even have to guess it.

There are insane moments in ME3... The mother of the Treshermaws, the lasergun and the reaper, the geth-server... The conversation with Eve (which almost changed my mind about the Genophage, almost.). I really wonder what ME3 people are playing because it must be vastly different from the ME3 I have. People who bought ME3 without having played the first two games might have a few valid points though, I agree. Having played the game with a fresh ME3-shep there are many things you don't really grasp unless you're willing to make heavy use of the codex if youtube isn't your thing, but with a total-shep ME3 is near flawless.

And harrassing that Salarian on Sur'Kesh? Priceless!

Agreed.

I'm still replaying it, trying to have a shep for each class and am working on engineer right now. Being on PS3 kinda makes it faster as ME1 isn't on PS3.

May take a break after my engineer playthrough (ME2 I think she was a sentinel changed to ME3 engineer).

Quite the opposite for me, before the extended cut I did 1 playthrough and was that disappointed with the rushed ending I returned the game to Amazon.

Bioware announced the Extended Cut and then I got interested in ME3 again. EC came out and I got the game again and I absolutely loved the improved ending.

No longer were there so many plot holes and things left unexplained. The ending choices were enhanced and I got the closure I wanted. Overall I was very impressed with the EC and I will definately consider buying DLC for ME3 if its any good.

Well done Bioware!
