I haven't touched SP, but that's due to the fact that I've been busy elsewhere.

Just saying, dude. ME3 is a marvel of coding and creativity when you see it in a line of other great franchises gone south:

- Mass Effect 3
- Diablo III
- Saints Row 3
- Fallout New Vegas

Interesting mention. In fact I think, FNV is way closer to Fallout 1 and 2 compared to Fallout 3

Yeah, I have been getting that a lot in discussions like this one, allover the internet, really. Even with all the DLC though, FONV isn't such a great game storywise. I mean, take Boone to the compound and start murdering legionaires including Ceasar and then you're told you haven't accomplished anything? Really? And that's even if you're lucky enough to open doors without the game locking up on you. Yeah, great game. But I love how "Your every action shapes the world" in FONV. Removing the threat from New Vegas just kinda doesn't change things. Riiiiiight. Unless you count booking the lonesome drifter to the Tops as shaping the world, in that case, knock yourself out.

And F3 is a good game storywise? Bethesda just put in random plots that didn't make sense to make F3's story. And every F:NV DLC is better than the ones from F3 that made no sense at all or were plain boring.

Anyway, i still play the MP sometimes but i have yet to do a second playthrough of ME3. The overall story is boring compared to the other 2 even with the EC.

how dare you insult the writing genius that was little lamplight!

but seriously new vegas brought the series back up to snuff after what FO3 did to it

I've only done multiplayer a bit when the new DLC came out and for the challenge. As for single player, haven't touched it except to finish off an Insanity run I had started for another character. There's just no satisfying conclusion, and it's disappointing that Bioware still won't come out and admit that they screwed up, instead of hiding behind fallacies of "artistic integrity." (there's nothing about the ending that shows any sign of artistic integrity beyond Bioware refusing to change it)

Also, since that one guy posted the list of games he hated and it seems to have fueled a good portion of the comments: I liked SR3 but thought it had little replay value. I really liked FONV, but it was buggy as all hell at launch, and the patches (especially the one that completely rebalanced every class of weapons down to the nitty gritty) showed that they were at least dedicated to having a good game. And I loved all the DLC's.

I haven't played any Mass Effect 3 since the Extended Cut either and I doubt I'll play it again. I've been playing some Mass Effect 1 though, probably the only Mass Effect game I'll continue to play.

I haven't touched the game at all since EC came out, there's just not enough gameplay in SP to make it worthwhile, and the MP is too repetitive. I suppose the franchise is more about dialogue and choices than shooting people, but eh, everything is on Youtube anyway, I don't really feel a huge incentive to replay the entire game over and over just to see everything. The game still managed to hold me for much longer than the 2 weeks or so I stuck it out for Diablo 3.

Well I have had the same problem with ME3 as the OP.

Simply put they made a bad call really bad by most stadards IMO. I see the new DLC and then I just pass it up. ME1 and ME2 I bought it fast.
That tells me that there is something really wrong in ME3 and I can see it in other threds where peeps are saying just that. They are comming from the last 2 games and falls in the last.

I feel betrayed by a loooong time good freind that has been Bioware. And there attitude twards is is IMO poor at best.

I haven't even played the EC yet. It came out during my holiday, and an Origin bug deleted my savegames so I haven't bothered to go through the ME3 SP campaign again just to see what the EC adds, which is, from what I've heard, not much. I still don't feel we got what we were promised before the game was released. The endings we have now are unsatisfactory as they make little sense to me. Worse,  I still won't see my Shepard defeat the Reapers and in ME4 there will be Jack or Jane Random finishing the battle or something. Why would I be interested in that?

The new DLC also holds no interest to me and I'm kind of confused as to why they're bringing it out, never mind asking us to pay for it.

The Leviathan DLC will tell us more about the Reapers. But not too much more, as at the end of ME3 you'll still be surprised by the Starchild. It will also not result in a weapon with which to defeat the Reapers, as that would also completely change the end of ME3. The DLC also adds two weapons which were exclusive to certain pre-orders. So, I guess, they're no longer exclusive? Does this mean that in due time everyone will have access to the Valiant in SP as well, provided they pay up for it? Doesn't this also undermine the whole concept of preorders?

As for the weapons DLC.. Why would I pay for the Indra, a weapon I already have in SP as well as MP, or for the weapons I already have in MP, where they are free? It makes no sense to me. That DLC should just be free, as it is just flipping a value from 0 to 1 or something.

So, in my opinion, Bioware has not lived up to their promises and now they expect us to pay for content which hardly adds anything of consequence. If I wanted to play another ME mission, I would start a new character or something and play through ME1 through ME3. But I don't feel like it, as it doesn't have a satisfying conclusion. Why bother, if all I get are the same options, no matter what I do?

I can't escape the feeling that they just want us to play MP and pour money into it in order to unlock stuff. But why would I do that?

Multiplayer is addictive, but the shop system is driving me crazy. I keep getting cards for characters I have maxed out or at least, that I already have. But it takes ages to unlock new characters. As for Ultra rare weapons, the drops are so far and few between that even people who play a lot more than I do are nowhere near maxing them out and in some cases, still don't have certain weapons. Most people, including me, don't even bother with promoting. Why would you, as it adds nothing useful. The N7 ranking is based only on that, not on skill. In the end, it just gets boring and repetitive.

Leviathan is not what I wanted and hoped for as it doesn't fix the main flaw in the SP campaign. I really hoped the EC would change the ending, make it worthwhile to play through the end and then start over with a different character. I still don't see why they didn't just do one of two things:

1) Announce ME4 would be the real final chapter of Shepard's journey
2) End ME3 with Shepard victorious over the Reapers but with widely different results depending on how you played out ME1, ME2 and ME3, such as:
-Planets devastated based on your EMS / how long it took Shepard to get to the final mission
 -A squad member indoctrinated
-One or more squad members killed
 -An entire species wiped out
-Shepard dying just as the final battle is concluded

It would add to the replayability, as you would go back to the beginning and try different ways of doing things in order to get to a certain ending. It would also much more easily set up a sequel as the end result would still be: Reapers defeated, instead of: Reapers wiped out or morphed with or under our control.

I think this game needs a mod that changes the ending as outlined above, if Bioware won't change the ending. Such a mod could also fix some other flaws, such as the lack of consequences to certain decisions and the complete lack of proper strategy, such as being focused on attacking the Reapers on Earth, where there seem to be more of them, which basically is suicide, instead of attacking a weak point.  In such a way, DLC like Leviathan could allow for a new strategy, allowing the fleet to punch a hole through Reaper defenses or something. At some point of the future, this may be made possible. Until
then, I'm not really interested any more. I'm working on creating a site to show
what direction such a mod should take in my opinion, but that'll take a
while.

For those of you who still do like ME SP, that is nice. I loved ME1 and ME2 and I love ME3 except for the ending. Bioware, for the most part, did a great job and they are undoubtedly still working hard to improve the game and provide us with more entertainment. Unfortunately, SP just doesn't seem to do anything for me anymore. For me, the ending undermines the whole experience up until then. My Shepard was in it to finish the Reapers, or die trying, but that turned out to be impossible. So  I'll stick with ME3 MP until I get bored with that too, I guess.

I uninstalled all ME games after I finished the EC. I've already replayed SP even before EC and I'm not interested in MP. I don't feel like doing more playthroughs and they're just taking up space. Nothing about Leviathan DLC excites me enough to make me reinstall ME3 (with Origin).

I don't think I'll be putting it down anytime soon. Just started my second playthrough the other night and today, just recently got into multiplayer because my sister bought a copy to play too.

The last few months I have mostly balanced my gaming between the ME series and Skyrim with some other random game thrown in once in a while, I even revisted DAO a while back. So yeah I have played ME 3 a ton even before the EC came out. So I will be playing it a ton more in the future.

No, while I respect that gamers that are disappointed with the game might not feel compelled to play it or the older games again, I have been enjoying the game. Completed my 2d playthrough a while ago and I'm currently playing an "alternative universe" version of my cannon femShep, with my 2nd dudeShep waiting for me once I wrap that up.

Still, I think that many who were disappoined with the game will eventually either move on or get over the disappointment. I've seen it mentioned in the thread and I'm glad. Spending a lot of time hating on something isn't good for anyone, especially not for the one who does the hating. Much better to find something new and different to love and enjoy. :)

If I were to choose one Mass Effect game to keep on my PC forever, it would be Mass Effect 3, and it is the only ME game on my PC right now after having already finished the previous two. The scope of the story, the gameplay, the endings, future DLC, and multiplayer will keep me riveted for years to come.

I played a little bit more on my insanity infiltrator after the EC I believe.

I still gotta beat the game on that playthrough. I started it a few months ago and never finished.

the only thing i love about it is the destroy ending were your love interest doesnt put up your name on the memorial and you see your shepard still alive. other than that its genesis for total peace. its hard touching it, again. i always keep going back to mass effect 1 and 2.

No I just can't bring myself to replay it... I loved replaying ME1 and 2 (more so ME1). ME3 forgetting the EC (which was just plain poor, even allowing for a three year old child's version of artistic creation). The games itself is also lack lustre, out side of a couple of side missions. It is soulless and overly linear story telling... nor do I like the lack of build options a major plus for re-playability that ME 3 does not have in any shape or manner. I just cannot cope with the crap story and missions (like some boring shopping centre) on the Citadel ; they are grating and soulless. I'll hang around and see if they put some major changes in or should I say hope they do.

I played through twice with no problem unlike other titles in the series. It is like playing kotor again really, except in terms of replayability it has more sucour.

In the end, it is not better than Knights of the Old Republic but it is close. It's my second favorite Bioware game easy.

I am still playing it and plan to have several more playthroughs. I finished the game twice before the EC and I'm about 75% through my third run with the EC installed. My perspective on these games is probably different than most because I don't play many games at all. If a game doesn't captivate me in the first hour or so then I'll stop playing it. It's only been the ME games that have grabbed me in recent years and now I'm happy to just play those. I think they're all great and whilst they're not 100% perfect they do hold a place in my heart and I'm grateful for that. So yeah, I'll be playing them for plenty of time to come... :o)

No I haven't touched the game, I tried a new run through after EC but I just don't find ME3 engaging or fun, just a grind. So for the first time since release the ME games are on my PC and my CE is giving better value as a beermat.

Even before the debacle, in fact before the release I had already asked questions about the value of DLC when we are at the end of the Trilogy, what they've put out about the new stuff hasn't changed my mind.
