Dragon Age II and Gears of War.
Both of these games made me feel I'm too old and mature to enjoy  playing video games. This is, of course, endlessly depressing, inaccurate and stupid thing to feel. Thusly these two games I found very disturbing in very literal sense of the word.

Games disturbing in good way is tougher a call since I'm bit of a **** and usually get scared ****less when playing them:crying:

Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of Earth was awesome though, very atmospheric and disturbing as a whole. innsmouth was exactly like I always imagined it!

Doom 3, what with the talking wall penis, the dude crucified to the roof, that woman who's head blew up and turned into a flaming skull that flew out my window. I was like "wut is this ****"

Not even Eternal darkness was that strange, and it had this

Heh, i thought that was pretty funny.

Hell was pretty creepy, with the moving torso's in the cages, babies crying in the background and souls screaming in the air.

And how can i forget Megaton bomb going off and out comes.....Moira!

Just comes out of nowhere with her skin falling off still with her optimistic personality despite the reason she is like that is standing before her.

Project zero... 2 or 3 had this ghost that crawled on all 4s underneath the floorboards.. What made it messed up was because throughout the game, your only line of defence is a bloody camera as you prance around as a dainty japanese girl... that and when you went under the floor, it switched to FPS mode for the first time, out of the blue.. just to mess you up even more.

Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem

Once u lose your sanity u face all these crazy in-game effects, and they different and kind of random. One effect was volume, sound disappeared and it showed volume just going down to zero like it was your tv. Another was a corrupted save message. The game was scary enough. And its under rated tbh

Silent Hill 4: The Room

I consider SH2 as one of the best horror games in the past 2 decades, but despite this SH4 aced it in the disturbing department. Aside from helplessly watching the ghost of serial killer Walter brutalize your fellow tenants from the apartment complex, you have to find his preserved umbilical cord and defeat him with it. Knowing that you're carrying around an umbilical cord, then actively using it to defeat the big bad, was a string of wtf moments that has left an ill impression on me for years.

Taking a second look at the collection list, I remembered a few others.

The entirety of the giygas fight in Earthbound.
The Jenny Scene in The Darkness.
Everything in American McGee's Alice.

resident evil 2- not because of the
zombies or things popping out at you, but because of those damn ink
ribbons. The scariest and most messed up thing a game can do to you is
not allow you to save.

You kids today, you don't know you're born. Everyone knows that if you're going into a survival situation you take a backpack full of ink ribbons with you. Bear Gryll's swears by it.

and then there is the bit in Shenmue in which you follow people around, stalking them, following their daily routines, seeing where they live for no apparent reason...
..or am I the only one who did that?

Damn that's freaky, I don't even want to imagine what following Fuku-san or Tom could do to someone's mind.

I'm going for eating a giant's toe in Skyrim. Months later and it still haunts my dreams.

Yes! This game was amazing.

Just the fact that someone wants to sacrifice you is pretty disturbing. 90% of the monsters are victims, your own self in the key-hole, the shabby baby doll, that ghost in the subway (long hair) and my favourite ghost is the one on the apartment one (braintree)?

Anyway his ghost was like tv static and occasionaly when attacking he would rewind back and stutter

Binding of Isaac.

The way it tries to play off the most disturbing imagery as "cute"

That game is too hard, stuck on level 19 at the moment, need to rank up my driving skills.

So far, currently doing 'Complete Engineering degree'.

^Lol...I can't believe i almost forgot about Batman: Arkham City.

*Spoiler Alert* *Spoiler Alert*

Instead of searching for Talia's body after the final battle with Joker & Clayface, Bruce delivers the Joker's body to Gordon. Afterwards there's no mention of Talia or a hint of remorse from Bruce, even after he spent the quarter of the game angsting over her. I guess Batman's foemance with the Joker trumps Talia's dat booty.

The underground sections of Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl absolutely scared the pants off me. Terrifying. Honourable mentions to Doom 3 (dull game, but scary atmosphere) and Fallout 3 for the general unpleasantness of Vault 87.

I succeeded in leveling up a lot, but unfortunately so does the game! And balance is always way off, not really fair. The nerfs and buffs alone could drive a person crazy!

Don't tell me you were forced to do cartwheels too, while Raiden was in the nude? Lol for SR3, Zimos in gimp pulling your carriage is just the tip of the iceberg for this game.

Yeah i know man, i'm level 19 but there is this boss called 'sister' which keeps leveling up with me, think it's level 16 now.

Might reverse pick-pocket her and slip in a grenade, but then i lose karma points and i get a 4 star police rating. Got no weapons on me either, just need to find a weapons trader somewhere. Anyone fancy doing some trading? I'd trade my shirt, it's blue but no armour rating or upgrades.

Oh, and the bar fight scene with the boss sister will be great in the future. It uses the exact audio from ME3, "Time to reload, enemy incoming!". Of course, reload is in the bar context. Plus, the microtransaction system is all over the place, you really can't get ahead without buying points.
