The only thing I really liked about the first movie (and this one too, it seems) are the sets, makeup, and effects - they definitely translated the art style from the games perfectly to the big screen. It's just too bad they deviated so much from the source material in regards to the storyline.

Also, the girl playing Heather is having a little difficulty concealing her Australian accent. Cute. :P

Tell me: has anyone else here played the Fatal Frame games? I tried playing Fatal Frame 2 a few times... and each time found the game so scary, I couldn't continue. I eventually just stopped trying. I think the scariest thing was when I turned around and saw this lady standing right behind me:

And I know what you're thinking: doesn't look very scary, does she? Well, my friends, you have not spent hours in pure darkness with nothing but a dinky flashlight and an old camera to your name, surrounded by homicidal apparitions who will appear and disappear at a moment's notice (often reappearing right behind you).

I've played all of the Fatal Frames, except for the Japanese only Wii version.  I love that series!  There were a few creepy parts.  The blinding ritual in the first one was pretty messed up.  Made me cringe!

@greengoron89 I've played Spirit Camera for the 3DS. It was an interesting concept, you had to physically aim your 3DS at "spirits" that were floating around your room, so that means having to stand up (or, for us lazies, sit in a chair that spins around) to play. You can't play in the dark, sadly, as the camera needs light to register the AR (Augmented Reality) booklet that comes with it - another neat feature.

Too bad the story was a waste of time, and criminally short. Seriously, is it still acceptable to have "story modes" that are less than two hours to complete?

Fatal Frame. I played one part (of the third one I think) and it involved squeezing into a crawl space with the game going into a first person view. After five minutes of staring at the menu I mustered the courage to move forward. I regretted that after fifteen seconds.

Oh and is it just me or is there a face in the upper left hand corner of that photo?

Plus the Colonel calling Raiden, every 5 secs, to tell him how he was abducted by aliens, and all that other nonsense.

Red Dead Redemption has its disturbing moments at times, especially at one part were you open some barn door to find many hanged, naked corpses D:

ooh, ooh and Max Payne 3. Why, you ask? Because Max is shot many times and one pain killer patches him up......pretty disturbing how one tiny pill does that ;)

I don't think it was a little girl. It was a woman.

I looked it up and was this what you were refering to?

Sweet Christmas, the Eye Poke Machine.

I squinted my way through that. Just thinking about it makes my eyes water.

Why did you post that picture? Posted Image

I've never been a big fan on ghost stories/game, but "Crimson Butterfly"? Holy smoke was that game creepy.

Silent Hill 2 is one of my favourite games of all time, and Silent Hill 3 isn't bad. However, I dislike the new voice actors that are used in the HD collection (James has the same voice as Kai Leng. How am i supposed to take him seriously?).

Though I'd recomend you play the first SH game first, it will certainly help you understand the universe a bit better.

The games are great but i read bad reviews of the HD collection. The update practically removes most of the fog so you can see the limitations of the game, lighting issues etc.

Surprised SH4 isn't in it, why miss it out? The story is really good and is quite sinister.

The final Space Quest game. I don't even remember the title. It was like one long (short for a SQ game) cold-medicine-induced dream, and like most dreams, I can no longer remember why I found it disturbing. (It's not the one about primordial soup. I kinda liked the boogers one. I think it was the one following that one.)

That one sticks out in my mind as disturbing to me.

Reading back through this thread, it seems obvious to me that I find very different things to be disturbing or not to be disturbing, and I find that, in itself, a bit curious. I find nothing to be too gross (except the mere smell of boiled cabbage). I have yet to see any cruelty that shocks my sensibilities. I have yet to experience anything in a game that makes me uncomfortable with myself.

Yet, there seems to have been something about that game that my brain flags as disturbing. I'll have to find a way to play it again to remember why.
