- Alistair: Of course, anything for my favouritest mage ever.
- Wynne: It seems you and our fearless leader are inseparable these days. Joined at the hip, almost.
- Alistair: That's a bit of an overstatement, don't you think?
- Wynne: Well then, now that you're in an intimate relationship, you should learn about where babies really come from.
- Alistair: Pardon?
- Wynne: I know the Chantry says you dream about your
babies and the good Fade spirits take them out of the Fade and leave
them in your arms...but that's not true. Actually what happens is that
when a girl and a boy really love each other --- Alistair: Andraste's flaming sword! I know where babies come from!
- Wynne: Do you? Do you really?
- Alistair: I certainly hope so.
- Wynne: Oh, all right then. Aww, look, you're all red and mottled. How cute.
- Alistair: You did that on purpose!
- Wynne: Now, now Alistair, why would I do such a thing?
- Alistair: Because you're wicked. That frail old lady act? I'm so not fooled. I'm on to you now.

Actually, I played with him both ways. Unhardened, I got a lot of conversations about how he didn't want to do it, pretty please with sugar on top don't make me. Hardened, I got one conversation: it's my responsibility, Anora sucks, gimme that crown.
Yeah, but that's at the Landmeet surely?
What I'm talking about is if you harden him while your still heading between Redcliffe/Circle Tower/Dalish and Orzammar as there is no difference (certainly none that I've seen with the exception of Isabella at the Pearl) between hard Alistair and flaccid Alistair.
You're right about there being essentially no difference BEFORE the Landsmeet, but your original post *did* mention the Landsmeet, where there is indeed different dialogue.![]()
I'll completely admit that it's a fault of the game that we didn't see more of a difference between hardened/unhardened Alistair, and the fact that ONE response in one dialogue would change him was kind of...odd.
And as for his relationship with Cailan, I believe that Alistair's deepest desire, and his motivation through out the game, was to be part of a family, so even if he didn't admit it out loud, he did care when Cailan died.
That's the way I see it too. I just have a hard time believing that there was absolutely zero feelings between Cailan and Alistair. I know Cailan was trying to protect the only heir to the throne, but I think deep down they cared about each other, especially Alistair since he didn't have any real family left. Like the other person said, he goes on about Goldanna after Cailan died so I think maybe he was feeling remorseful at that point for not having the opportunity to know his own brother before he died.
well there is hardly any feelings for cailen he is to mutch opsest about glory as he would say in the beginning when you come in ostagar glory for every one yeah right as if that is what the battle is all about pritty mutch a thick head king if you ask me that is why I even think alistair would make a better king but mostly I made him king for he did not want to and I had a say in it to make him king kinda felt good to do so haha

! Has anyone else gotten the one where Wynne talks about having a son? I so wanted to have a quest to find him instead of that elf in woods.

After Wynne and Alistair talk a few times, they become kind of close, I guess, and she mentions that Alistair reminds her of her son, or rather how she would have liked for her son to have grown up to be. The mages took the baby away I guess so he would have been raised by the Chantry like Alistair. I got that conversation on the PS3, but I've since switched to the PC version and I don't get half the dialogue on the PC as I got on the PS3 for some reason.Subject696 wrote...
