Because this game is for everyone and like it or not, everyone is entitled to join whichever public lobby the game randomly puts them into. You want to kick them after that, fine, that's up to you. But it's not fair to impose a limit of which difficulty players are "allowed" to play on simply because they're new to the game. After all, you and I were both that person once.
Stop being such an elitist. It's bad form, chap.

Make it N7 ranking based. 6,000 minimum to play Platinum.
I would make it dependant on matches won on Gold, were I to code it. N7 ranking is not an accurate indicator of skill. Neither is wins honestly but it is more indicative of skill then N7 ranking.

Why stop there? Make it 10,000 N7 Minimum, and the player must have Typhoon XI unlocked.

Players must have Brilliant Surge X to play Platinum.

N7 10,000 minimum, must use a level XX weapon, level V consumables must be used, and level X gear is required.

Because kicking the same scrubs with lvl 4 rare weapon and no equipment mods playing drell adept over and over and over again for 30 minutes is tiring.
Sure, as soon as you elitists get off your snobby horses and grow up. kay?

I have, and will continue to carry lesser geared players through gold. It is very difficult to do so on platinum, hence the kicking. I apologize if your feelings are hurt by that, but you dont see Gomer Pyle going to war with the navy seals for a reason.

Ahh yes! And you must have taken down an Atlas, Prime, and Banshee in that order as the last three enemies in a match for three consequitve Platinum matches with Full Extraction using only that gun.

Score or matches won means squat too. I could be a Gold farmer that has no right being on Platinum than the guy with the Predator. There is no clear cut way in a co-op game that is indicative of skill. Even if you routinely top the boards. You could just be playing with a suck team.

Not really. Most multiplayer games GATE ACCESS to higher difficulties for PUGs because CARRIES SUCK. They take fun out of the game for better players and prevent the carry from learning how to play better.

I dont follow your logic. If you are playing on a "suck team" frequently I dont think you would be winning that many golds. Matches won is imho the most accurate measure of skill because it would be hard for you to be carried EVERY match, as most teams would kick you after one if you were not a skilled player.

Actually, we should extend the same gate to Gold and Silver, as well. And no grandfathered access--everyone starts with a clean slate after the patch.

Indeed. Despite the fact that you have to have done this in order to be allowed to play on Platinum. REGARDLESS.
I like this. This needs to be introduced and then buffed immediately.

Besides, its not like you can find friends to play platinum with. There isn't some kind of specific Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer social network forum dedicated just to this. Where would you find someone who shares the interest of having a platinum friend that can pull their own weight? We're not freaking psychics, BioWare. We can't just 'sense' out these people. Either keep noobs out of PUGs or make some kind of social network for us join in on and meet each other to make friends capable of running platinum with us. You could call it BioWare Social Network. Could work. Just a thought, feel free to disagree.

Yeah, keep all those noobs from playing. That's a far more reasonable solution than just you know, not playing PUG platinum. Yeah, totally. If noobs weren't allowed to enter those matches then we can use PUG without worry of landing in with a crowd of idiots. To save us from the tedious act of getting friends and inviting them, lets keep noobs and low N7s out of PUG system for platinum.

How much enjoyment do you think said friends are going to have on platinum difficulty when 8 banshees roll out and one shot them?
