Fires fast, plenty of ammo and reloads quickly and... easy to obtain. I like the Phaeston better than the Harrier even; I could eviscerate enemies with my Turian Soldier. Discuss my logic.

I guess it's okay on bronze. Probably usable in silver. Like most early weapons, by the time I got it to X, it had been worthless to me for ages.

If you use a batarian, you could HIT things with your phaeston. It would probably be enough to complete a silver match. In a reasonable time if there are other players as well.

I like the Phaeston post-buff. It's a good all-around assault rifle that lacks any real weaknesses but doesn't have any strengths either. It's an excellent bread and butter weapon and the most well-rounded automatic weapon in the game.

I am completly capable of playing and beating Gold. But the higher you go, the tighter the limits are when it comes to choosing your guy and guns. Just like why people say Platinum is terrible because it limits to what you can use. The game is all about fun and my idea of fun isn't hanging around, using something and being someone I don't want to use.

It's a useable assault rifle. Personally, I prefer it to the Revenant. But it doesn't hold a candle to the Harrier, Typhoon or Saber, and it's heavier than the Avenger.

If you enjoy using it, fine. But it sure as hell doesn't come close to being the best.

Disagree, there are no bad characters to use on gold, just characters you are bad with on gold. Not you personally, well maybe you personally, but anything is effective on gold with the right playstyle/teammates/experience.

If armor wasn't such a huge factor on gold/platinum, I'd agree. For Silver and Bronze it's definitely one of the better weaponchoices though.

Gold really isn't very limiting.

I use the pheaston all the time on gold with EB and AP and it does perfectly fine.

Typhoon is better killer for enemy. But, if you need light weighted gun that can be used in all situations, yes, I would say Phaseston could be one of best AR available even in gold. By itself it does not too much in gold, but with right Ammo power and debuffing combined with headshot makes phaeston quite accurate and powerful gun that can do very well in gold.

The Phaeston is very good for what it is: a light, relatively accurate weapon with a high ROF and a nice long clip. That makes it a good choice for anyone who wants moderate DPS without carrying a lot of extra weight around. What it isn't is a boss killer on Gold+, at least not without a lot of gear.

But if you build around it, slap a bunch of gear on it, or don't play above Silver, it can be very effective.
