Is it only i who would like to see the countries of Thedas have national anthems/patriotic songs? Don't know if it would fit the medieval setting exactly but i would absolutely love that the different countries had their unique anthem/songs.

Please share your opinion on this. :)

National anthems... not for me.
Because there is already enough mindless nationalism in Thedas for my taste... (And I may be biased against  national anthems since the country I'm living in has such a rather bloodthirsty one...)
About the historical accuracy though, the only example I know of such a thing in ancient times was the praise to the god Apollo the ancient Greeks would song before battle : the Paean.
As far as I know, the nations are modern inventions. People in North-Western medieval Europe didn't belong to a nation but were subjects to a liege lord who was a much more transitory thing. They had war cries and religious songs, though.

Regional songs about forgotten events, such as battles or drama would be cute, however (a bit like Lelianna's stories and song.)

Nationalism did exist. I mean, you have things like the Sicilian Vespers, Joan of Arc and Robert the Bruce.

But national anthems wouldn't really fit.

I'm not very knowledgeable about your two other examples but the case of Joan of Arc should really been taken with a ton of salt, in France it isn't accepted as such by everybody. The gist of the polemic is : She defended a specific pretender to the throne, not a modern concept of nation. That *may* be considered as an older form of nationalism but not the one we know in our days.
(And just keep in mind what Napoleon said about canon History : It's a lie about everybody has agreed... He knew very well what he was speaking of...)

Yeh it IS a bit early for the concept of National Anthems to surface in Thedas.

What about patriotic songs/or songs that praise their rulers? Don't really need some sort of nationalism of the countries, just unique songs and music that differ the countries. Songs and music add so much.

I do have a 12 inch ruler on my desk, but I wouldn't call that great.
It is plastic, though, so it does possess the virtue of being easy to keep clean.

If you had a metallic saw on your desk, instead of a mere plastic ruler, you could at least make the music for a patriotic song in a country of woodcutters (at war with the dalish elves).
What I mean is : stay on topic, silly!

Ferelden has England's "Long live the King/Queen" trademark.

But if you want to hear the national anthems, do you have any idea about what kind of anthems there would be for other countries other than Ferelden? We haven't learned very much about the other countries, so there's really not much we can write about them.
Bioware would have to figure out more about the actual countries to make some sort of anthem, or for any fan to make some sort of anthem.

Du gamla, du fria, du fjällhöga Anderfels? =)

"Ye olde, ye free, ye mountainous Anderfels.
Ye silent, ye joyous and beautiful.
I greet thee, oh fairest kingdom in our lands.
Thy sun, thy skies, thy most wondrous green meadows!
Thy sun, thy skies, thy most wondrous green meadows!

Ye tower from memories from great ages past.
When in honour thy name was sung throughout Thedas.
I know that ye are and will remain what ye were.
Yes I want to live - I want to die in the Anderfels!
Yes I want to live - I want to die in the Anderfels!"

Totally translated the Swedish national anthem and replaced Earth with Thedas, Scandinavia with the Anderfels! =D Kinda fits though, what with the first Blight and Grey Wardens and all. And heck, the Anderfelian "Nordbotten" is a total rip off the Swedish county Norrbotten any way ;)

National anthems? No.

Entertainers of some other kind than carnal entertainers? Sure.

What would they sing regarding the nations? At most, how great their nation and/or the people of their (or current nation of occupancy) is. At least, jibes and jokes about various people and places of any faction or nationality.

Owre Kynge went forth to River Dane
With grace and myght to wynne again
Our Laydee for hym wrought mervelusly;
Wherefore Ferelden may call and cry

Deo gratias!
Deo gratias Alamar redde pro victoria!

Maker bless our mighty dogs
Preserve our noble dogs
Long may they bark
Give them glossy coats
sounding clear loud notes
guarding our sheep and goats
Long may they bark.

Tune may be found here

We toss the nug and spill the wine
Before piling darkspawn to a mountain´s high
Grab thy hammer and think of stone
Whield the steel, hit crushing bones

Nothing stands as tall as dwarven might
Not highborn man, not lowborn elf
Or even ruins of the long lost thaig

We heat the steel and knot the beards
Before knocking up our wifes with paragon-herds
Grab thy woman and think of stone
Whield the ****** and let her moan

Nothing stands as tall as dwarven might
Not highborn man, not lowborn elf
Or even ruins of the long lost thaig
