As the final part of a trilogy, I feel it fails in almost every single way possible, though.
If you've followed the franchise feverishly for all these years, buying all the DLC (even the stupid ones like Pinnacle Station) and generally just looking forward to seeing the massive web of choice and consequence explode into a beautiful, intricate crecendo of intervowing plot points and ramifications for making decisions that would either lead to success or tragedy in the final chapter... well, it's a pretty huge letdown. We got a straightforward tale, with little to no variation in the plot.
I guess ME3 succeeded in what Bioware and EA wanted it to do.
It was to be a big, loud spectacle, perfect for new players to jump in to and start playing, and simultanously wet their appetite of the previous entries and the franchise.
It's only the ones who have been with the series since the beginning who are left scratching their heads.
