I recently downloaded DAO:Ultimate Edition off of Steam for my Windows 7 Dell Laptop.  It works fine until I try to do the Mages Tower portion of the main quest.  As soon as the cutscene showing the boat approaching the tower ends, I get placed in a loading sceen and the game is suddenly "Not Responding".  This has happened multiple times now.  Does anyone know of a fix for this problem?

Trying setting your Video options to use DX9 as the Renderer.

It could be that some assets have been corrupted. Have you run the Steam client validation tool?

If that does not help, try lowering your graphic settings and resolution to minimum, and just see if it loads. Your graphics chip is middle-of-the-road, and while it may play other games well, DAO is an unoptimized beast. If it loads at minimum settings, you can then increase them step by step.

I suppose it could also be a corrupted display driver. Have you experienced crashes in any other games?
