In all my previous games ive ended up being involved in a romance with Morrigan. I have followed the same path this play through so far...however I might break off the Morrigan thing and hitch up with Leliana for a change. I was just wondering is there any benefit to Leliana? As I know Morrigan romance does some stuff later on.

There are no benefits for any of the romances, you just get a different set of scenes.

Dont some extra story things happen at the end with Morrigan and also additions to the DLC regarding the romances?

You don't have to romance Morrigan to get that scene near the end of Origins. You do get something with her at the end of Witch hunt, but that falls under the category of "different set of scenes".

I'd imagine humping Morrigan eventually feels much more integral part of the storyline.

Morrigan is for those who like being in abusive relationship. Leliana actually cares and treats you with respect, unlike Morrigan.

They have different personalities; Morrigan has an independent streak like a cat and Leliana is a bit like a puppy once you gain her trust.

It's personal preference.

Morrigan is all about power, and she basically uses the warden for her ritual (romance not required). Leliana actually enjoys the adventure and wants to continue the relationship post-blight.

It's all just preference. You get a bit of extra content if you romance Morrigan with Witch Hunt, but not nearly enough as to avoid a romance with Leliana because of it.

Both romances are amazingly written and equally fufilling. Morrigan is easier to bed, harder to make her fall in love with you, Leliana is the exact opposite; she won't give it up easy, but once she does she is fairly easy to fully romance from then on.

Contrary to what some people are saying Morrigan actually does fall in love with you, just as deeply if not deeper, than Leliana does, but you have pursue the romance correctly and pursue it to the VERY END, that includes DLC. At first it is pure lust for her and she is basically using you for her advantage but during the course of the game that will change, and she will ultimately break her golden rule for you, which is to never let feelings, only reason, dictate her decisions. But like I said you must pursue her romance flawlessly, which isn't too hard to get the hang of after a few playthroughs.

In the end, both women are fantastic romance choices and neither has a unbiased edge over the other, it all boils down to what flavor you like.

LOL. I see you never romanced Morrigan.

If you love her, she eventually grows to love you too.

The primary advantage only applies if you're a mage. You see, Morrigan can turn into a spider, and if you're a mage she can teach you to turn into a spider, so then you and Morrigan can have spider sex.  Everything will be bigger and 8.

No. Bad bobo. No Spiderses references allowed in the DA:O forums...or anywhere.

Spider ladies tend to eat their partners afterwards. :pinched:

You get a more touching ending with Morrigan in Witch Hunt.

Presonally, I've always enjoyed Leliana's romance over Morrigan. Yes, she'll fall for the Warden, but still felt like Morrigan was just using him in the end. The mirror ending for her DLC was a very nice conclusion to it, though.

Spoiler

Ironically enough, Morrigan will end up remaining with the Warden while Leliana seemed to have left him by the second game.
