I know this is pie in the sky, but I would enjoy the game far more if it had these features.

This game needs a Hardcore mode that covers the following:

INVENTORY

Option 1
• Non Shared Inventory •  For immersions sake, each character should have there own inventory that is limited to not even double the number of slots they have for equipment.

• • Each character should have their own slots for potions they carry and these cannot be used by other characters.

• • Each character should only be able to carry a few extra heavy items (maybe based on STR)

Option 2

• Limited inventory slots •  no more carrying around several sets of armor, swords, and shields. The goal here is immersion over ease; my characters should not be able to carry around tons of loot and fight effectively.

• •  Limit the number of armor and weapons can be carried and still allow unlimited small objects.

• •  Limit the total number of slots to 20 instead of 70.

ECONOMY/CRAFTING

• Improved loot tables •
To make up for not carrying around tons of weapon and armor drops to sell later. Increase and improve the loot tables, especially loot in chests. Worried about game balance and penalizing someone for not bringing a rogue along? Screw them! This is hard core mode, make the treasure chests awesome (or at least some key ones)!  You can also add more crafting materials (see below).

Crafting •
• • No more brewing 50 potions in a blink of an eye, and anywhere you want. There should only be specific moments where potions can be made and it should take some time. My first thought is it would be just like the rune crafter in camp but you go to whatever NPC can make the potions and talk to them, as long as they have the materials they need, they can make the potions. Or perhaps there are tables in locations that allow crafting.

• • Rune creation: A new crafting skill that allows you to use materials to create magic runes. For example, 50 frozen lighting and a +1 lightning Rune can be combined to make a +5 Lightning rune.

COMBAT

No Quick Health Regen outside of combat • Character should heal slowly and if they want to heal faster they have to use a potion or a kit.

No persistent Buffs • Things like Rally should have a time duration and a cooldown that basically means it will only get used once during an encounter and only for 30 seconds or some amount of time. The bard spell that increases stamina should give a quick and significant boost and then it is gone, it should almost play exactly like a group heal but have a longer cooldown.

• Arrows •   Screw unlimited normal arrows. Do you want everything handed to you on a silver platter? In hardcore mode you need to find arrows and equip them. This isn't Lagolas' quiver.

• Spell Components •  Now I am really reaching, but it would be cool if mages had to have certain things in their inventory in order to cast spells. This would make throw away loot suddenly very needed. Even if it was as simple as needing lyrium dust for spells, this would add to immersion.

• Injuries During Combat! •  Now you have a small chance to get injury modifiers from a critical hit!

CHARACTERS/ ITEMS

• Survival Skill needed to Use Injury Kits •  1 point will allow use of the simple one.

Injury Kits •  These now put injuries on a slow cooldown timer, they will no longer go away instantly. The timer would be few minutes and then the injury is gone.

That would be pretty interesting to see, I would definitely try that out. If I knew what to change and such I would help but I am not yet experienced enough with the toolset.

Well, the inventory stuff is GUI, so it's a lot harder to do than it should be. The other things are mostly a matter of editing scripts and 2da files; the game mode would have to be Nightmare in the scripts, as there is not a higher difficulty level in the game by default.

Couldn't you just create a new difficulty? Or is that not possible.

Maybe; I'm not sure if adding one to the Difficulty 2da will actually add one to the game. I can check that out tonight.
