I recently purchased and downloaded the Mass Effect Dual Pack that was on sale on Amazon. com. The required Hard Drive space was 7.2 GB and 10.82 GB for Mass Effect 1 and 2 (Digital Deluxe Edition) respectively. After downloading both games, I was brought to installation. I installed both games, but when I checked my hard drive, the games had taken up over 40GB of storage (Hard drive space decreased from ~600 to 560 GB)
On my C: drive, there were 2 different sets of files for Mass Effect 1. One set of files included the Mass Effect textures, maps, and cutscenes, and was found in the correct "download location" as per Amazon's report immediately after downloading. However, the second set of files included additional game data, such as the launcher and binaries. Both of these sets of files took up 17 GB, more than twice what was reported on Amazon.
Mass Effect 2 also had the same problems. There were two sets of files; one with cutscenes and textures and the other with spoken languages and maps. The two of these amounted to over 23 GB,  much more than the 10.82GB that was advertised.
Is this correct? Are the games supposed to take up that much hard drive space, even though the advertised required space is vastly different?
