It's not confirmed. TW3 is years away. But still, I'm leery about it. I don't want MP in my TW3.

:(

Humans are social creatures and therefore like to play video games with other people.

As long as SP and MP are separate I see no problem with having the option of playing MP.

Didnt Baldur's gate have multiplayer? The game is considered a masterpiece by a lot of people.

I'm assuming this is for the Cyberpunk game their doing which is based off of a PnP RPG, like Baldur's gate. Perhaps they are trying to recreate the feeling of getting together with your friends to have some adventures?

I'll judge when I see more though.

It doesn't even fit into the context of both games. I don't see what they would do. Simply fighting? TW2 has the arena already which pretty much covers that. Fighting hordes of the undead from the battlefield? That's advertising to the wrong market. If they're advertising to another market, then that means appeal will have to be placed in several parts of the product. That runs the risk of diluting what already was a solid product.

But you know, quotas...

That's what everyone said about Mass Effect 3. Look how that turned out.

It's advertised for TW3 not for CYBERPUNK.

Ah, in that case, nevermind.

It's for TW3, not Cyberpunk. The obvious guess is it'd be co-op Arena mode - which I will admit could be quite epic if done right. But they aren't a big company. I simply don't think they have the resources to do it alongside the type of single player they did for TW2.

There's only two ways they can afford it. They move people from one department to assist with the Multiplayer aspect. Which would impact other areas of the game. Or sign up with a third party publisher to help with financing the game, which opens the door for "artistic compromises."

Seeing how this is the last chapter in a game they successfully carried by themselves for two games, I think they'll have to give more work to fewer people to assist with the mp part of the game.

Yup and so did Neverwinter Nights which still has an active community. Seriously stfu people. I gave Bioware the benefit of doubt before playing ME3's online it wasn't until after I tried it that I started bashing it.

@OP Did this really deserves a topic? If it's Witcher related their a thread and if it's Cyberpunk related there is also a thread for it.

Pretty well actually. The multiplayer is one of the redeeming features of Mass Effect 3. The tie between MP and SP was eventually severed once Bioware found out their mistake.

CDProjekt is going to be at Gamescon so they might speak more about it who knows. Until people actually see it for themselves I think they need to shutup. If it's an arena style mode I can deal with it no problem if it's similar to Original Sin's online I'd cry tears of joy.

Lets just wait and see before we start freaking out. BG and NWN had multiplayer and the world didn't explode.

It could be fun - all depends on the execution.

Everyone said the same exact thing about Mass Effect 3, and the end result was a poorly done campaign. Once bitten, twice shy.

Well depends on the online. I hate Mass Effect 3's online I find it boring and I can't be bothered to install the game again to play with my friends. Same goes for games like Battlefield 3 but gimme co-op like Borderlands, Baldur's Gate or Neverwinter Nights especially. I won't play a co-op arena mode in Witcher 3 (maybe a little) but I won't get mad at them for including it. If Witcher 3 is every bit as great as the first two games then I'll be happy,

I thought people generally like Mass Effect 3's online? I don't but isn't the online community active and the big reason people ****ed out was because of how the multiplayer affected the single player not because people found the online bad.

But there's no doubt the main game suffered from it. Yes they had different teams working on it. but you're kidding yourself if you think resources weren't taken from one in order to add the other.

I don't know maybe if ME3 was their first bad game but having played Dragon Age 2 and Old Republic I also think it was Bioware just being bad in general.

Frankly the as much as I don't like the multiplayer I find it bette than the single player. The game was just that bad to me. How much would the multiplayer affected the writing anyways?

Umm, the job posting they put up is to look into the possibility of incorporating multiplayer. You all need to calm down...the sky isn't falling just because a company decides to look into it. I love a good single-player game as much as anybody else, but just because a game includes MP doesn't make it a bad game by default.

Fair enough. I'm just being cautious is all. The mp in ME3 is the only reason to play the game a second time. CDPR is still kind of new, so if they're going to make anything bad it'll happen later on.

The eternal zot argument. We just don't know. I do know that getting a game like TW2, where so much content is missed in one playthrough is likely to never happen again.

"So much for my admiration of them". Really? You're going that far with your hatred of multiplayer?
