Well, CD Projekt is getting multiplayer now. So much for my admiration of them

Multiplayer itself isn't anything bad, just as long as it stands separate from the single player and isn't some cheap gimmick added at last second to 'appeal to a wider audience.' (Aka ME3.)

It's like people don't remeber how social gaming used to be. You know arcades and inviting your friends over to play games. Sure, games are fun on their own but they are so much better when experienced with friends.
Being online with people yelling, "f*cking n*gger! F*cking F*ggot!" Is a lot different from being in a room full of your friends or like minded people who like games. The expletives come from modern day multiplayer.
Those two things are not synonymous.
True enough.
It's still cool to be able to take a game over to a friends house and play it with them though.

They rocked Witcher 1 and made it even better with Witcher 2. Why would you instantly lose faith that they wouldn't make Witcher 3 even better?
Because multiplayer is bane of our existance, cant you see. There isnt a single game outside with both good SP&MP.
I was being sarcastic....
Explaining this hurts me...

Multiplayer definitely ruined Uncharted... Storytelling and characters took a backseat ever since. Same thing with MGS4... Hideo Kojima should be ashamed for diverting those precious funds from those cutscenes into multiplayer... Borderlands! ahh jeeze thats another game that could have been AMAZING if it wasn't for the turrible MP. CDPR should just fold now.
All action games and Borderlands is an FPS. action is what they're designed for, so more action in mp is fine. RPGs rely on scripted content. Stories, fleshed out characters, memorable settings, etc. How do you deliver that in an RPG?

It can be done and once a company figures out how, watch out. We're talking big bucks. Multiplayer RPG (that isn't an MMORPG) is unsailed water. If you can master sailing there, you got an entire blue ocean ahead of you, with money just waiting to fly into your pockets.

How do you know it's BS when there hasn't been one multiplayer RPG out there? Diablo doesn't count, it's basically hack and slash with a few rpg elements slapped on to it. An MMOS don't play like that.
It's an untapped market, if you can get into that, you got 0 competition to worry about. It's pure money.
Also name me one really successful RPG that's come out, that isn't Skyrim.

It has been done. It's called an mmorpg. How do you link that with a story driven rpg like The Witcher?
MMORPG aren't real rpgs. MMORPGs are all about the grind, and stuck mechanics. The only game that I can currently think of that tries to move away from what MMORPGS are today when it comes to mechanics is TERA online.
Now you take a game like the Witcher. TW2 already has good mechanics, good lore, setting and all the bells and whistles. The **** is done, what a company needs to figure. Ok how can I turn this awesome singleplayer experience and turn it into a world where others can play it without it being a never ending grind like MMORPGs?
Well you gotta decide first, do we have the players work with each other or against each other? Or maybe even both? How does death work? Should player combat be limited to stadiums/arenas only? What about doing quests?
If you can answer such questions and implement it in a real RPG game, watch out, it's money time.

The market of people that want to play rpg games, but together with their friends, those that buy MMORPG, but quits cause it's always the same and they don't wanna pay for a sub.

So if CDPR has the financial backing I'd rather see them outsource the MP to a new team and let the current in-house team focus solely on SP.

Again, that's subjective. Though I prefer Uncharted 2 over the third one, but the second one had MP as well.
Oh and Borderlands was meant for the Co-op aspect, IMO.

That's my point, online gaming is not bad at all - sure there are expectations and we all have those days, but it's not as how some people keep insisting.
