Well, CD Projekt is getting multiplayer now. So much for my admiration of them

Then count yourself lucky, because I've experienced it to one degree or another on just about every game I've tried mp for on consoles.

If we mute the mics, it eliminates the social aspect of it. Remove the social aspect of it, and where is the appeal? If you're going to play it like that, why not just stick to challenge maps rather than a multiplayer component.

When most people don't talk anyway or have mics it doesn't really work.  I don't play multiplayer games to get social.  I have real life friends and facebook that does that just fine for me.  I play multiplayer to have fun.

Well as long as Rocksteady stay away, I still have faith in SP-only games.

The argument in favor of mp in TW3 is because RPGs were originally intended to be social. If that's the case, there's no way to mix the social aspect of mp and the videogame version of scripted rpgs.

Journey has a multiplayer component sorta which has NO communication at all. We have no idea what CDPR is doing for all we know they are doing samething.

There are countless games that do exactly that.  social multiplayer doesn't cancel out scripted single player.  This is a lot of speculation about a simple feature on a game that may be years away.
As someone who can't get freaking Witcher 1 to work on my machine I have no real investment in anything CDProjekt does.

The market of people that want to play rpg games, but together with their friends, those that buy MMORPG, but quits cause it's always the same and they don't wanna pay for a sub.

And these people don't want to play a single player campaign?  Chances are I don't want to play the game they do want to play.

Multiplayer definitely ruined Uncharted... Storytelling and characters took a backseat ever since. Same thing with MGS4... Hideo Kojima should be ashamed for diverting those precious funds from those cutscenes into multiplayer... Borderlands! ahh jeeze thats another game that could have been AMAZING if it wasn't for the turrible MP. CDPR should just fold now.

LOL I almost thought you were serious until that Borderland bit.
Good one.

The Butthurt is strong in this thread, I dont get it, what is so wrong with CDProjekt implementing multiplayer in one of their future games?

Well I guess one thing that is a sure thing is that no matter how good CDProjekt's next game is it will totally suck, same thing happened to Bioware when they joined EA.

I tried to use examples of great singleplayer games with more than competant multiplayer. But alas, sarcasm translates poorly over the internet.

Seriously though, a borderlands-esque multiplayer for the new cyberpunk would only strengthen the game. It will probably simply be co-op arena mode anyway (which is also cool imo). They started it with patch 2.0 with the Arena being linked with online leaderboards and stuff. Nothing wrong with allowing you to team up with a friend.

From the "responsibilites" it looks more like a multiplayer programmer would be working on the engine.

"Creating a roadmap of changes necessary to add multiplayer to the Red Engine
Designing and implementing network layer of the Red Engine.
Helping in design and implementation of multiplayer changes to existing systems
Participating in shaping the future of the Red Engine"

Google translated bit. So how about waiting for Gamescon before ****ing out?

"In a press release made the leaders of Daedalic Entertainment announced, that should keep fans of The Witcher series in just two and a half weeks the eyes open.

Sun Deadalic and the boys will take advantage of the Polish blacksmith CD Project RED, this year's gamescom, a world premiere and "exciting news" to reveal to The Witcher series. Da man bisher keine weiteren Details nennen wollte, kann aktuell nur spekuliert werden, mit was wir es hier im Detail zu tun haben. As previously mentioned they wanted no further details can be speculated to date only, with what we are dealing here in detail.

Us the announcement of The Witcher 3 is in the house? Enthüllt man weiteren Download-Content oder eine Erweiterung zu The Witcher 2 ? Revealed one additional downloadable content or expansion of The Witcher 2? Oder findet vielleicht der zweite Ableger den Weg auf die PlayStation 3? Or is perhaps the second branch the way to the PlayStation 3?

Warten wir die gamescom ab, die in diesem Jahr vom 15. Let's wait gamescom from which this year of 15 bis zum 19. to 19 August stattfindet. Of August."

People do realize that games outside of PC's, Xbox's, PS3's and Nintendo's can be played solo, don't they?
